We booked the bistro at Hotel du Vin after seeing great reviews. My parents were visiting me so I thought I would go as a special occassion. On arriving at reception I said I had a reservation and was said to go straight to the bar. We ordered drinks and then asked if we had a reservation for food which I had already said and then were told our table was ready. The lady greeting is took our coats and led us to our table. Waiter arrived promptly and said he was there to look after us for duration of our stay. When he arrived to take out order he seemed dismayed that we only wanted main courses and no starters. Also felt pressured into ordering side dishes. Although we ordered a bottle of wine we waited 15 mins and had to ask another waiter for this. When our meal came the bouillabaisse was disappointing with one piece of each piece of fish and a small prawn. Our original waiter no longer attended us because it felt we were not spending enough money and it took a long time for our bill to arrive. When it did they had added service which I felt we did not receive. After paying we left the restaurant and had to find our own coats on the coat stand as no one seemed very keen to assist us.
