I have been here a couple of times now. Each time the steak has been absolutely superb. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are friendly and chatty. Menus are easy to read, cocktails are brilliant too. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in the town.

Went for dinner last night and lunch today. Nice surroundings and lovely food! Three course meal for £13 last night - each course was hot, well presented and very tasty.

Went again today for Sunday lunch - good quality roast with yorkie for £7 and you help yourself to veg. Absolutely beautiful!

Service was very good for both meals, until we wanted to pay and then no one was in sight!

Five of us were looking to make a dinner reservation in Newcastle on the eve of the Great North Run. All the restaurants we knew from previous visits were fully booked by that time and the only one we could find with vacancies was Freya's so we booked it, not expecting it to be particularly good in those circumstances. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was very friendly and helpful when it came to requesting minor changes to some of the menu items. Service was quick and the food quality of the five different main dishes were ordered was superb in every case. This is not a five star restaurant but for a middle of the road menu with plenty of variety, given the very reasonable price we found it was excellent. Couldn't fault it.

The Sunday Lunch in here is an absolute hidden gem. £5.95 for a choice of 3meats (vegetarian also available) and unlimited vegetables. Quite a good selection of choice of vegetables and everything is cooked to perfection and piping hot.
Your meat is served with a very large Yorkshire pudding and gravy, and you help yourself to the vegetables, additional gravy and sauces/condiments.

Service is always top notch and the waitresses don't pester you whilst you're eating which is a bonus. Nothing is too much trouble for them either.

Have ate during the week too and there's always a deal on - eg buy 1main and get another for £1... 60% off any main course... etc

If you're a TasteCard holder the Restaurant accept these too, on any night.

Definitely worth a visit and you don't have to be a member of the Casino to visit.
