“The best!”
Reviewed 13 February 2014

Stayed once before a few months ago but came back and this time stayed in a superior room instead of a basic room.

Room itself is okay, but felt a little unclean. not dirty but just not as spotless as i would of liked, a bit dusty here and there but it was only for one night so didnt bother me too much.

you get free toiletries which is always a bonus considering the low price they charge. superior rooms get hot choc, which as a person who likes hot choc and is easily pleased that wee touch was right up my street! :)

now ive stayed in both of the types of rooms i would say if you can stay in a superior room. basic rooms, you can hear everything in the next room even if people are just speaking and have the tv on low. you can hear it all, but in a superior room you cant hear anything like that, plus is a bit more modern. and rooms are bigger!

staff are friendly and welcoming as always! didnt catch her name on reception but she was lovely :)

cant comment on breakfast but my mum had it and was thrilled! she said it was well worth the money and the cappuccino she had from the coffee machine was the best shes ever had!

deffo stay here all the time im in newcastle now as it is just so quiet and im yet to find anywhere that is for this sort of rate in the centre of town. you can get taxis back from town which cost about £6 from the gate and £4 from the station. but it is only a 10 minute walk, so its not far at all!

Stayed here for a long weekend. Rooms were clean however the room itself definately needs a good lick of paint and the bathroom needs updated. Staff very friendly and obliging. Very close 2 town centre and for the price couldnt ask for more. There was a problem with a group of men who were thrown out early hours of the morning and some were arrested. They had vandalised the hotel and smashed up the hallway. The night before they were fightin outside our room at 3 am it did eventually stop when i went out the room and asked them to move. But to top it off after such a late night with the fighting the fire alarm goes off at 8 as they burnt toast. Was not a very happy person that day!!!!!! Overall stay was ok

Just stayed here for a night. Booked it via Laterooms.com, paid £35 (originally £130).
Pros: easy access to city centre (10 mins to Central train station), free parking, good in-room facitilities including toiletries, kettle, towels and LCD tv, polite staff, hot and strong shower
Cons: very unclean - very obvious that rooms were not cleaned properly, carpets not hoovered, bubble gum stuck on heating panel, used towels hidden behind radiator in bathroom, leaking toilet
Overall: if not for the price and only for one night, I'd have moved to somewhere else. Cleaniness is the prime concern! Staff were helpful to re-arrange another room once we reported the leakage in the bathroom. The building is a shamble though. There are holes in the walls and cracks in the ceilings. This place needs proper renovation!

We stayed for a couple of nights from the 31st till the 2nd and the hotel was okay. Rooms were okay, bathroom was okay. Was all generally okay. The one bugbear I had was how a group of young men up for the weekend we're ejected from their rooms with nowhere to go in the early hours of the morning. We happened to be on the floor below them and heard absolutely nothing. Calling three police cars to come and evict a bunch of guys having a bit of fun was laughable. If you tend to speak at higher than 1 decibel when you've had a drink, don't book here.

staff extremely friendly, room clean and good sized (had booked a single and was given a twin), bathroom a little shabby but hotel obviously being refurbished. Had one small problem which was dealt with very efficiently by the night receptionist . Ample (free) car parking spaces - which is a huge bonus so close to the city centre. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

My title may be harsh but unfortunately true. Im a contractor thats been to a lot off not so good hotels but this is up there. Room freezing, dirty . Found tablets on the floor .
No blind in bathroom , you have a shower and it sets the fire alarm off. No remote and the telly and is facing the wall not the bed. Amd in the taxi from town the taxi driver advised me not to leave anything in the van as it might not be there in the morning. Happy days.

I booked in to stay here overnight while attending a funeral in Newcastle. Having booked a single room at the incredibly cheap rate of £25, I was pleasantly surprised to find a good sized twin room. Flat screen tv, ensuite, tea and coffee facilities. Bed very comfortable and the reception staff were exceptionally kind and friendly, allowing me to check in early in order to freshn up prior to the funeral. The room provided everything I needed and I would be very happy to stay here again.
