I can't praise Brenda highly enough. She runs a lovely establishment. We were in the North East to attend a gig at The Little Theatre in Gateshead. From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome - she brought us up some fresh milk so we could make a brew (the only tiny issue was she didn't leave enough milk - a few pots of UHT in with the tea / coffee would've sufficed). Our room was spacious, comfortable & spotlessly clean (as was the entire establishment), we enjoyed a great night out & a gorgeous early breakfast (kippers mmmmm) on the Sunday morning. We had a lovely stay.

Thank you Brenda.

Brilliant B&B. Rooms are clean, airy and enormous. The breakfast was outstanding (you have to try the kippers!) and Brenda was super-attentive throughout our weekend (without being intrusive). The hall is set in some beautiful grounds and the hall itself is just lovely. I would thoroughly recommend that anyone walking the wall or staying near Newcastle tries Hedley Hall

I stayed at Hedley Hall in early September for three nights with my Mum & Aunt. We had a room each and all three rooms were outstanding in quality and facilities. Mine was huge, had a superking sized bed and a sofa with acres of space to swing several cats in between. Everything was spotlessly clean, the ensuite shower room spacious and supplied with all the essentials and some luxuries, for e.g. shower cap. Brenda was very friendly and hospitable. We used the guest lounge one evening after dinner, which was lovely. Breakfast was delicious and unhurried. Despite being out in the country, lovely and quiet and with superb views it was just a few minutes drive to several high quality eating places in and around Sunnyside. I would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the North East!

You can't fault this as a peaceful base in beautiful surroundings! Super comfortable and an axing breakfast. Better than home!! For runners there's an old railway track taking you to some brilliant spots where you can see for miles and very gentle gradients!

We stayed for 3 nights The Great North Run weekend. The hotel is located in a lovely area just outside Newcastle but conveniently within reach of Beamish museum and the Gibside estate. There are some lovely walks and cycle routes around the hotel. Brenda made us very welcome and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and spacious. We enjoyed are stay so much that we have booked again for the 2014 Great north Run weekend.

Room Tip: The super king sized bed was so comfy!!

We booked this as a weekend escape with the kids to Beamish and the Forbidden Corner at Leyburn. On arrival Brenda was warm and welcoming with us and they children. We were booked into room 3, ones of the family rooms, with large dual aspect windows over the gardens and surrounding scenery. The decor was tastefully quaint and the little touches including the bird spotting binoculars were fun. The beds were comfortable and the perfect haven after a busy day. The bathroom was a good high spec and the only criticism was the water pressure although that is not the fault of the hotel!

The room itself was a little warm for me but everyone was fine and an open window soon remedied the issue.

Breakfast the next day was well presented and clearly the ingredients were local and high quality.

We would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Room 3 is spacious and has great views
