Description: Fujiyama Teppanyaki Restaurant is the first and original teppanyaki restaurant established in Newcastle Upon Tyne. It first opened it's doors to the public in 1997. It is the perfect venue for entertaining clients you need to impress or to celebrate special occasions such as a birthday or a hen/stag night. All customers have their own highly trained personal chef for the duration of the meal. Once you are taken to your table, the raw ingredients of your meal will shortly arrive and the chef will prepare and cook your meal on the hotplate surface, right in front of you. The food is delivered to you sizzling fresh. Our menu is extensive, accommodating both carnivores and herbivores. Many customers opt for one of our set banquets which are perfectly compiled to leave a pleasant feeling of satisfaction, not too much and not too little. Alternatively you may wish to customise and create you own meal by selecting starters from the appetisers menu and main courses from the ala carte menu, and some may even brave it to our sushi page.

“Fantastic Food & Entertainment”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

Pro - Awesome food, fantastic chefs, hilarious entertainment, superb for socialising :-)
Con - The restaurant is looking very tired, if a little unclean, really could do with tidy up, clean up and it would be 5 star :-/
Value - It's not the cheapest, however I think worth every penny, for the food and entertainment. If only they would spend a little on the restaurant!

“Amazing all round evening”
Reviewed 30 May 2014 via mobile

Took my mum here for a change. I told the chef it was my mums birthday and throughout the whole night he made her feel very special. We ordered the seafood banquet which was amazing and full of flavours. The night was entertaining with the chef being funny and chatty. He did lots of cool tricks and made my mums name with the rice. We did the catch the egg in the hat trick which was very funny. An all round excellent evening and my mum left with a big smile on her face. The chef Jay was great :-)

“We love this place!”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

My partner and I have visited this place for over 4 years now and it is still a firm favourite! We love to take other people with us who have never experienced this type of dining before and Fujiyamas always deliver a great night had by all. As we are regular visitors we are accustomed to the ways in how everything works from entertainment to waiting times at busy intervals, sometimes the wait can be long and at times I have felt like walking out but I know that the food is worth waiting for. Some reviews comment on the quality of the food in terms of value for money, I personally have no issues nor ever have had issues with the standard and quality of food from this restaurant, the order in which the food is served may be random but it's all part of a different dining experience. I think it is important to realise that you don't just book a table at this restaurant but also your own personal chef, who will guarantee to be a part of your night out. The waitresses are lovely, the chefs are fantastic and really do try to make your night one to remember. I would and have on many occasions recommended this restaurant to everyone even with kids (that like that type of food) and we will continue to dine there as often as we can to see the staff who we now consider our friends.

“Amazing”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

Love this restaurant! A really welcome feel, to accompany the food is amazing. The restaurant is not as nice as hanna hanna up the road from it. However the food is a lot lot nicer and I recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food is quite expensive but is worth every penny. The chefs cook in front of you and are very polite and you can join them. They are very skilled and it is exciting to watch them cook.

“Long wait, poor value for money”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

We went here for a celebration, bringing friends from out of the country. What a disappointment it was. We had reserved a table but still were made to wait over 40 minutes before we were seated (over 20 before we even got offered a drink), after another 20+ minutes wait at the table, the waiter arrived. Then the waiter got the order wrong, served up the meat about 15 minutes before the sides and made poor attempts at jokes while doing so, even making one of our guests feel uncomfortable. The side vegetables are £4.50 and extortionate, for that we received a handful of bean sprouts and if we were lucky, some of us got a strip of pepper too. Overall a very poor experience.
