“Excellent service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed 21 September 2011

The staff are so pleasant and nothing is too much trouble,we have stayed here several times and always made to feel so welcome.Excellent place to stay as a base to see all the sights etc and only a few minutes walk to the millenium bridge and quayside. The breakfast was first class as was the service, we also sampled evening meal and again the service and food was excellent, this is an opportunity to thank the staff for been so pleasant and welcoming- we shall be back!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a view of river and millenium bridge if possible.

Each member of staff we met was courteous and pleasant. The hotel was clean. Plenty of hot water. The breakfast was good value. It was quiet; although the Premier Chain does guarantee a good night's sleep or a refund.
It is in a good position, just a stroll down to the river front amenities, or a bus ride. The indoor free parking was a bonus
.
One small criticism. Not enough coffee in the room. Just one coffee sachet each, so if one has a bedtime drink, one cannot have a cup in the morning. Although one could ask for more, it seemed silly not to have provided at least two sachets per person.

Room Tip: If you have a room at the front, there is a view down the river

My wife and i like going on 3 night mini breaks and we always choose Premier inns. this was the first time we had been to newcastle upon tyne and we were bowled over by the friendly way that we were treated in the various shops and bars that we visited. All the staff at premier inn millenium bridge were so lovely that this completed the experience , even down to susan on reception drawing us a map of how to see the tyne quayside and get a bus up into Grainger town . Breakfast was top class and on one evening we ate in the restaurant and this was also fantastic and all served with a smile . the room was immaculate as always in premier inns and the free car park was a great bonus. we highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for a couple of nights for a short break, and it was fine. The location is a little away from the Quayside but only a few minutes’ walk. It’s in a generally quiet area and unlike the nearby Quayside Premier Inn, the car park is free. You can park either outside or under cover. Reception is on the floor above the entrance door but there’s a lift so that’s no problem.

The hotel itself is standard Premier Inn layout and décor, clean, tidy and unpretentious. The room was likewise clean and tidy. The only problem is that the hotel (like most Premier Inns) isn’t air-conditioned and the room was rather hot at night – we made good use of the supplied fan! Having said that, we had no trouble sleeping.

The in-house restaurant was good, and average-priced (even the drinks). Try the Pizza – it’s great! Breakfast is either a reasonable Continental buffet or a full English all-you-can eat affair for a couple of pounds extra, and is good.

The staff were friendly and helpful, providing additional pillows and extra tea/coffee for the room when asked.

Overall, a good Premier Inn and we’d have no hesitation in staying there again.

This must be one of the oldest premier inns and it's now starting to show its age. It was very hot and humid during our stay and despite fans being provided it really needs air conditioning in the bedrooms. It also meant that we had to leave the window open which meant we could hear the nearby church clock chiming away. The curtains didn't close properly either and need to be replaced.
Against all this however it has to be said that the staff were both efficient, attentive and friendly. Breakfast was very good - freshly cooked and hot. Usual spacious room with everything working although water pressure could be better. Location is perfect, being very convenient for the quayside, millenium bridge, biscuit factory and baltic exchange and the sage across the river. Free parking either outside or undercover is a huge bonus.

Bottom line - would we stay here again? Probably yes but get air conditioning installed please.

Recently stayed one night breaking up a long journey further north. Excellent location close to the Quayside, Sage and Baltic. Plenty of decent bars and restaurants nearby. Rooms standard Premier Inn, clean and tidy. Breakfasts good and hearty. Free parking too which is a godsend in a big city these days.
