Premier Inn Newcastle City Centre (Millennium Bridge) Hotel
Reviewed 6 September 2013

Free parking and excellent location only enhance the quality of this hotel. But its real strength is in its staff. They are keen, friendly and enthusiastic and are fantastic ambassadors for Premier Inn. My (future) son in law has recently started their graduate management course so I was keen to find out what they thought of the company. Without exception they spoke highly about it and really represented the brand well. Well done to everyone

very enjoyable 3 night stay in august . free parking and very convenient location . spacious room, decent breakfast and helpful friendly staff [geordies are great people] only downside was lack of airconditioning in room which could be a problem in hot weather .the hotel had a friendly cosy feel.

great hotel, great location, handy for the quayside and Newcastle city centre.
both in walking distance if you are feeling fit, take comfy shoes ,,,,,
staff very friendly and helpful, plenty of car park spaces ,taxi in to the town is not expensive, as other reviews mention the rooms are very warm but it was nice that they had provided fans in the rooms, after all premier inn are not in control of the weather, overall a brilliant stay

A lovely overnight stay. Excellent location, clean room, lovely staff and the parking is free which is a big bonus . We definitely had a great nights sleep. We will stay here again. The room was warm but a large fan was provided so this wasn't a problem.

Free parking and 5 minutes walk from the millennium bridge are great pluses for this hotel, as are the pleasant staff.

However the lack of air con (despite have ac control boxes fitted to walls) in the very hot rooms made it a very uncomfortable night sleep. A fan was provided but the noise from this fan negated its value.

Stayed in much better Premier Inns

Room Tip: Don't stay there in the Summer

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay here at Premier Inn Newcastle Millenium Bridge.

Unfortunately the rooms can get hot during the extreme weather however we do offer fans etc to help. There are a few rooms in the hotel that have old ventilation boxes however we are not fitted for air conditioning. We do have other sites in the city that are air-conditioned and are just a well pointed as ourselves, which you may wish to take advantage of in the future.

I hope that this will not stop you staying with Premier Inn again in the future and hopefully we can welcome you back to the hotel at some point.

Excellent staff, clean room and bathroom but we have two concerns which marred our stay. One was the heat in the room we were allocated which was really terrible and not much helped by the fan. There is no air-conditioning. We complained about this as we had had a very bad night and we were given a much cooler room for our second night and not charged for the first. The other concern was that there was a group of men in the restaurant on a stag night on the Saturday and the din was truly awful - a lot of shouting and swearing; we could not hear ourselves speak and had to leave after our main course - a pity there wasn't a separate room for them. Our son, who had a room over the car park was woken at 3am as they left. Also, when we arrived there was an empty beer-bottle on the floor in the the entrance and later a plastic bag of cans - not a good advertisement for the hotel.

Room Tip: If the heat in the room hits you as you enter, do not accept it.

We stayed here for a weekend and having stayed in budget hotels in the past weren't expecting much more than somewhere to lay our heads after a good wander about the city. From checking in to checking out after a couple of days, the experience, mainly down to the the fantastic colleagues that work there was really exceptional, especially considering the value that we paid for a room. That said the rooms were immaculate, very clean, the bed and pillows (which can sometimes be a major letdown) were supremely comfy, resulting in two great nights sleep. On arrival we wee told of their perfect nights sleep guarantee or something and it was clear they have invested in making this a traveller priority. The room also had tea and coffee making facilities too, very welcome in the am and pm!
We only ate in the hotel at breakfast, opting for the full works buffet, a pinch at £8.25, loads of choice, I certainly can vouch for the majority of what was on offer (shamefaced!)
The location is fantastic for exploring the quayside area, Ouseburn, which was full of bars, restaurants and places to walk, and only 5-10mins walk to pretty much anywhere in the city centre.
This premier inn should certainly be proud of the team that work there, they were an absolute asset to the chain, genuine and naturally friendly, always happy to help, always available, full of local info and tips as well as some great suggestions of things to do and see whilst there. They felt proud to work there and proud of their city too, which just added to a great customer experience for my wife and myself, we'll definitely be back!
