Premier Inn Newcastle City Centre (Millennium Bridge) Hotel
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Did not reply to feedback, or initial complaint on departure after complaining about a guest above who was up and down all night to the toilet continually. Arrived early and a very pleasant receptionist allowed us access to room, as it was torrential rain and we were hungry we expected food would be available but not during the day. No view from rear, but room was nice. We ate in, both evening and breakfast, however the area is far too small and the kitchen staff could not cope with demand. Starter chicken wings did not include the sauces nor much chicken? . Sweet the "Cho-co-late Surpise"? was served in a soup bowl and did not feature the ingredients pictured. Breakfast again same problem not enough tables staff or food to cope with demand. My wife had the last fried egg, by the time the supply was replenished I was finished. There is a skirting board hanging off the wall on exit level, however car parking is good anfd free.

Room Tip: Top Floor so no one above you will keep you awake and to the front if you would like any view

A group visited for a 40th, the rooms and bathrooms were really clean. The bed was so comfy! Lovely bar area, cold beers. Great location- short walk from the bars. Staff so attentive & welcoming. Would recommend. Thanks for a great stay.

We chose this Premier Inn for it's location and parking and also value for money. The hotel is in a great spot for the Millennium Bridge and getting across to Gateshead and is handy for the City Centre. I highly recommend the Quay Link (Bright yellow) bus if you want to get into the city centre.
The hotel was up to Premier Inn's usual standard and all the staff we met were friendly and helpful.
I only have 2 little niggles and they are not confined to this Premier Inn but to the chain as a whole.
The first is WiFi, why in this day and age don't you offer something better than 30 minutes free? It seems a bit "pre-historic" these days for this to be the only free option. Come on Premier Inn, catch up!
My second is the whole "being green" bit. Why hang a notice in the bathroom about saving energy and not getting fresh towels, only to remove the towels my daughter and I had hung up in our bathroom and replace them with clean ones? This happened twice during our 3 night stay and it's not the first of your hotels it's happened in. Please, if you're going to ask your guests to be environment conscious, follow it through and leave the towels where they are.

A decent Premier Inn located in the city centre, easy walking distance to the main attractions and river side. Ample parking and good, clean rooms as ever. Staff friendly and accommodating. Good value for a night in Newcastle. Ask for room on top floor so that you can't hear people walking around above you.

Room Tip: Top floor always quietest
