Modern hotel with very helpful staff. Our room was on the ground floor facing the car park and a railway line, so no view. The bathroom was spotless with a very good shower and a separate toilet. The carpet in the bedroom was very stained next to the bed. The bed itself was not a kingsize but a double and was too soft for us. We had to put a pillow between us to stop roll together!! The breakfast was basic but ok. Right opposite the hotel is a TGIF Fridays where we had an excellent evening meal..( see separate review). The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the Metro Centre which is huge. We decided to drive there so we could drop off our shopping during the day. We got there at 9a.m. So the car park was virtually empty. No parking charges either. On the second night we were woken up at 2 a.m by a load of screaming, shouting women. Eventually a member of staff came to try to quieten them down. After a lot of swearing and shouting they must have gone to their beds. There seemed to be a lot of hen and stag parties staying. Would we go back. Probably not to that hotel but we loved Newcastle and the friendly people.

The staff here were really helpful with my stay. Had a good sleep, and the breakfast was great. Conveniently close to TGI Friday, which is a great restaurant. Bus services to the city is just outside, and usually taxis close by too. Walking distance to the metro centre.

Excellent double room, good bed, spacious bathroom with good shower & separate toilet. TV hadn't been upgraded to full freeview, so not full range of channels, but we gather this is in hand. Pleasant view of Tyne & Scotswood Bridge from our 4th floor window. Staff were all friendly & helpful. Quite nice bar & eating area by reception. The one real minus was the (allegedly free but we know we pay for it!) breakfast. Not much choice of fruit, or spreads (no Marmite!), but the worst thing was the "cooked" bit - only sausage, scrambled egg & beans available, no tomato, bacon, mushrooms, hash browns, etc. The scrambled egg was rubbery & the sausages didn't taste very meaty. It's well situated for other eateries, TGI Friday's & Frankie & Bennys. But the one we went to was the Skiff Inn right next door, which was fantastic and I'm giving a separate review. Metro Centre accessible in 10 mins or so on foot, or by bus (stop just outside) or car.

The hotel was OK and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was fine but nothing special. Short walk to Metro Centre which has ample restaurants but there is also TGI's and "Franky and Bennys" on the same estate as hotel if you don't fancy a walk.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn't get the wifi very well from 3rd floor either but was fine in bar and 2nd floor.
The bed was to soft for my liking but I was only there for 2 nights so it was bearable.

Having arrived just after 1630 on 16/04/2014 we were greeted by nice warm friendly staff. Checking in was faultless quick and simple. We were handed the remote tv control for Sky tv which I was very surprised at. Once in the room we were able to access free wifi it worked a treat for the 4 days we were there. The bedroom was Spick and spam as per usual. I fact I can't really grumble apart from the curtains they didn't really fit the window being at the front of the hotel the lights from the car park were coming through the gaps in the curtains round the side of the window perhaps you could rectify this by Velcro down the Side of the curtains to stop light penetration or is it just me being picky. Breakfast as usual was fine and dandy. Overall a enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with Sky tv

We stayed here overnight for a weekend shopping break. When we arrived there was a party gathered in reception and it took a little while to check in, but there were no disturbances throughout the night. Pleasant enough stay.
