This will never be the best hotel in the area and I feel in some ways that I should not be recommending it but at the end of the day it does represent Value For Money. Yes the furniture is old fashioned with very old TV's and the carpets are worn in places but the it is clean in the correct p[laces and adequate for overnight stops very close to the Airport Terminal and at £60 including 8 days parking it does represent good value that is not matched. I do have to moan about the cost of phoning the hotel reservation service and the 50p charge even for using debit cards but no doubt we will be using it again.

    Dear KESTERMARSH,
Thanks for your comments, our call charges are 10p per minute plus network extras. We do charge an admin fee for using credit/debit cards however if you want to avoid this we are happy to take cash payments upon arrival at the hotel. We do offer value for money packages and our team are constantly checking our local competitors to ensure we can offer the best available rate
Thank you once again and we look forward to welcoming you again soon

    Kind regards,

Having read previous reviews, I came very close to cancelling our pre-flight booking. Glad I didn't as it was ok. Yes, the hotel is dated and the tv wouldn't look out of place on the " Antiques Roadshow" but our room was clean and fine for a one night stay. Parking was easy and just a short walk to the airport terminal. As we did not eat here I can't comment on the restaurant.

We arrived at the Britannia Hotel Newcastle Airport, as part of our National Coach Holiday. 24th-27th February, we received our key card to our rooms, and were swiftly in them. The rooms we typical for Britannia bit worn. but I must say very Clean. tea and coffee Provided as standard. Dinner was at 7.oopm. there was another coach in at the time but we sat in a separate area, with table cloths and bottled water. we looked a bit up market, Starters were fine. served by staff, the main dinner was buffet arrangement. a reasonable choice. but budget food nice, but most of it frozen. but for the price worth it we all enjoyed our meal, for a sweet plenty of Gatos. with cream. there was an option of rice pudding etc: followed by tea, coffee. we also had the 99p bar which was enjoyed by all. The breakfast was standard Britannia, good quality. a bit over cooked with being stood a while, the bacon was of a very high standard. again plenty of tea and coffee.
There did not seem to be anyone in charge if the dinning room. it could do with some direction, as things kept running out sausage, bacon, fried bread, eggs. bread for the toaster.

Thankyou to Lesley in Housekeeping who kept the rooms very clean, and was very Helpful, and little Gem. also thanks to the manager who has started supplying cushions. in the rooms a nice personnel touch.

Would I return again Yes I would I was made to feel welcome by all the staff.

Room Tip: our room 120 was quite no aircraft noise at all

Stayed here night before we travelled.

A few minutes walk to the airport is the only good thing about this hotel.

Bed was uncomfortable, pillows were like rocks.

Our room was next to the lift in which you could here working throughout the night.

Had an evening meal, wasn't the best but it filled a hole.

    Wouldn't stay again I'm Afraid

    Dear kelly p,
Thanks for taking the time to write a review, we are sorry you were disturbed by the lifts, this isnt a complaint we have received until now. Our beds are being replaced and majority are now complete, new ones are much firmer and better quality, bedrooms also have new pillow stock which again are firmer.
Thank you once again for your comments

well we stayed here a night before we flew on holiday.... thought ignore the bad reviews and see for myself .. well first impression of receptionist was ok until we got to the road very old and dated and the carpet didn't look like it been hovered and a old fashioned television what my granny use to have with hardly no channels??? had to look in the beds to make sure they were clean... few hairs in bathroom yuk for what we paid wasn't worth it... and then try to charge nearly 10 pound for breakfast really ive had better for that price .. breakfast was a shambles more like a bnb hotel than a 3 star hotel...

    Room Tip: don't go

    Dear Claire c,
Thanks for taking the time to write your review, we are disappointed that you werent happy with the hotel. Our housekeeping team work very hard to ensure rooms are cleaned to a high standard, unfortunately we dont offer flat screen TV's at present.
We offer full breakfast upon check in for a mere £5.00 per person, this is extremely good value for money, offer doesnt apply if booked the following morning.
Thank you once again for your feedback
