Reviewed 18 June 2014 via mobile

Stayed here twice now and have to say it is a lovely hotel.
The first time was for my husbands b day the 2nd just because I liked it so much the first!!
Check in is simple and easy.
The rooms are of a decent size and clean with everything in you'd expect of a 4 * hotel. Only thing is would like more milk and sugar on the tea tray.
Can't comment on food as not had any but shall be indulging on my next visit. It's not to expensive however there are some pricey things on the menu if your feeling flush depending on the nature of your stay I suppose.
Gym and sauna are available to use if you want to. I paid £52 for my second visit defs worth it and will be returning.

We were most pleasantly surprised by the hotel and would certainly return. Check-in was welcoming and efficient and our room, although small, very comfortable. We had booked an included evening meal and staff were most helpful in booking us in to eat early as we were attending the Theatre Royal. We enjoyed our meal which was of a high standard with excellent service. We liked the situation near to the old keep and with easy access to both town and the quayside. All hotel staff were obliging and most courteous. Thank you.

We have recently returned and were very disappointed as this is meant to be 4star hotel.
The receptionist was continually distracted whilst dealing with us talking to others, obviously we were not important customers. When will people learn fist impressions stay with you.
They are in process of refurbishment, but that does not excuse the awful smell of used cooking oil
In the bedroom and dirty carpet, and so much noise from the the disco for the friday wedding.A different receptionist was very kind and We were moved from 714 to 10th floor before the Saturday wedding, so no noise, clean carpet but the smell was still there

Room Tip: Not 7th, 10 th avoids disco

I booked this hotel in the centre of Newcastle because of its proximity to the Metro Radio Arena; ten minutes walk. We checked in at lunch time and promptly went for a look around the city centre shops before returning for a lovely hot shower, change and early dinner prior to the show.
All the staff were very helpful, extremely friendly and willing to offer information about the hotel and the city. The concierge was on hand to order taxis to the Arena which was great. We returned from a fabulous show with the great Dolly Parton, had drinks in the bar watching England in their first match of the World cup then retired to a comfortable night's sleep in our well furnished room. Great place, would definitely stay again even though we only live 25 miles from it. It made the show so much more special. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We had a junior suite, of which I believe there are only 6. Worth the little extra.

The hotel seems to be undertaking a fair bit of refurbishment at the moment, but overall an enjoyable stay. I found the staff to be very amiable and polite.
I also found it interesting the reception area was actually the 6th floor of the hotel.

Room Tip: Turn right out of the hotel and right again to get to the downtown area . By going this way it saves...

We have recently returned from an overnight stay at the Vermont hotel having found a Sunday night deal through last minute .com for £45 inclusive of breakfast We had a very pleasant room that was both spacious and spotlessly clean .The breakfast was tasty with good selection. We found all staff to be both polite and helpful. The only downside to our stay was locating the hotel as due to roadworks there are numerous diversions. Otherwise a really enjoyable experience

My wife found this offer by chance on Booking.com A Sunday night for £39, what a bargain !!! Hotel is really beautiful. Rooms are a bit dated but we had a great view of the river. We had a great sunny afternoon on the Quayside and a great night out in town and all bars were full. Great bar downstairs, bit pricey but good atmosphere. Would stay again, but only if we find another £39 room!!!
