Stayed one night on a business trip

I decided to stay at the Vermont due to my late arrival and with the hotel having an impressive looking Roof top bar I had planned to just stay in the hotel in the evening.

To my disappointment the roof top bar was closed at the restaurant was fully booked up until 9:30pm so had to venture out.

Hotel is about 10 min walk to a few bars and restaurant and about 15 mins from the station.

Hotel room was small but did the job as I was there for only one night, WIFI seemed to be abit hit and miss depending on whereabouts I was standing in my room.

Breakfast was nice

We went for a champagne afternoon tea that we bought on a special deal website. It was fantastic . Great surroundings . Lovely staff who made us feel very welcome. And lovely food . They even wrapped up what we couldn't eat so we could take it home .A really lovely afternoon

stayed 3 nights in this lovely hotel, our room looked on to the small car park and the court building so we didn't have much view. The location is excellent so close to the railway, and if you go to floor 1 you come out with only 5mins walk to the quayside, where you can take the yellow bus back up the hill or for a very small price buy an all day ticket.
We were impressed by the room size-(plenty)--very comfy bed.loved the telly on the wall.
Breakfast was very substantial and staff were very pleasant. We had the special evening dinner for £59 95 plus a bottle of wine--- absolutely excellent- ample portions we were attended by the lovely John- making our meal more enjoyable. Our room was very very warm, we had a small fan that really did'nt make a lot of diff.to a large space
Toilet could use a few touch ups--soap dish -it was so wet our soap seemed to dissapear.
Despite the sea-gulls squawking- AND the church bells chiming all night AND the trains going by,---we will watch out for special offers and make a return visit.

Room Tip: seems rooms that are higher up have great views of the river.(higher than 7th floor)

Visited here as part of Newcastle's Restaurant week.

Staff were all extremely good & we were well looked after.

However While the food we did get was mostly excellent the portion sizes are very stingy.

I got two very small scallops for my starter, While I got a very nice sized steak for my main course my wife two tiny pieces of lamb, Not fair at all!

My steak was not cooked how i asked for it, however it was still really tasty. It also needed more vegetables to go with it.

Would I go Back?

if it was on a special offer yes BUT, the full prices you pay are far too high for the scant and measly portion sizes you get.

Stayed for two night bed and breakfast on deal through Trivago. Value for money was better than could ever be expected. Room was smallish but well decorated and good quality furniture. Reception and restaurant staff were very good and attentive. Just a few minutes from Quayside. Would definitely stay again as it was very calm and relaxing.

Fab location, comfortable, clean rooms with gushing hot water. Staff are extremely attentive. Public areas are quite decadent and the feel is a superior hotel. To include car parking in the city centre is a bonus.

Room Tip: Can be noisy if facing Livello
