We got married at this hotel recently and it was really good. The C&B part esp Laura are great. She made sure everything was spot on. All the food we all had was very good. A great wedding hotel in newcastle esp if your on a budget like we were. They dont charge room hire which is a plus. would recommed for a wedding.

We stayed as a group during easter week and we found it to be really lovely and excellent value for money. The meals were all very good in quantity and taste the breakfasts were fab. Staff were lovely friendly and helpful and the rooms comfortable and clean with lots of hot water and big fluffy towels yes great week! We will return again

Me and my husband have just returned from the Caledonian Hotel and had a fab time, we booked through the gold voucher for £139 for 2 night for 2 of us. we were given the executive room which we did not know at time of booking was included in this price also included was breakfast and 3 course meal both nights. i can honestly say the hotel was spotless and all the staff were so friendly and went out there way to help you, the only down side waqs that the meal was to be picked from a set menu and this did not change from night to night, however they did allow you to use user allowance from the set menu on the main menu which gave you a wider choice. so over all excellent value. great location and can walk to centre in 15 mins, will def be returning again.

we have just returned from a weekend in newcastle. we stayed at the caledonian from the 30th april till the 1st may the hotel was very clean rooms spacious and the staff very helpful. The breakfast was fab just what we needed after a night on the booze. would definately stay there again. we did walk into town which took us about 25 minutes. We used taxi s from the train station who were very helpful and gave us a card and only charged us £1 each, we did use them to go back into town to the tiger tiger club. We were a group of 22 girls we had no trouble at all.. Fab weekend. I was a little worried as i had read mixed reviews about this hotel. The hotel asked for £25 from each person this was to cover any breakages and also to keep noise down, we heard no noise at all.

Room smelled of smoke, breakfast was very poor- greasy overcooked eggs, ran out of juice and bitter coffee, and only one cup. Rooms were clean and comfortable but everything was just below being average. If it was half the price, it would be fine for a hen or stag do, but at £120 a night I was stunned. With so many great hotels out there why would you choose this hotel unless forced to because you're on a hen do you didn't organise. Reminded me of my first summer job as a teenager in a disappointing Devon hotel. Functional.

We had a lovely stay at the Caledonian Hotel; the location was great as we were visiting family in Jesmond so it was really convenient and we were within walking distance to the local bars and restaurants. we booked an executive room which was spacious, nicely decorated and clean, a little more than what we expected to pay but it was worth it. The staff were also friendly and efficient. Overall I would recommend this hotel and definately return on our next visit to Jesmond.

At first thought we had the last space in small awkward car park - realised later that there were more spaces in approach road and on the side. We had executive room, rather over warm (but turning off radiator and opening window dealt with that), well appointed with all facilities we wanted. Handy for West Jesmond metro to get into the centre but was also in a nice part of the city with good restaurants nearby, nice small shops and a friendly pub outside the station serving good beer at a good price. Considering how close this was to city centre it felt safe walking around at night. Breakfast was a hot buffet that was regularly restocked and good quality.Overall I would definitely stay here again
