Stayed at the hotel for two nights in the executive room. Really nice and spacious room that included a mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities and lots of little touches that made the stay really enjoyable. The mattresses used on the beds are really comfortable too! The room we stayed in (214) faced the back of the hotel and was very peaceful. We didn't stay for breakfast at the hotel, but we did have tea there one night. Despite being the only customers in the restaurant we did wait 50 minutes for food, but when the food arrived we weren't too fussed as it was really good food. Taxis are right outside of the hotel, cheapest taxi that we payed for into the town centre cost 6 pound!! With the most expensive being £8.50, so really not much of a cost at all considering the distance from the town centre to the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel and if we were to return to Newcastle, we'll definitely be using this hotel again.

Stayed here on a 5 day coach tour, they obviously do not have many coach parties here as the hotel does not lend itself to large parties. The room was very nice, the food was very good and the staff very friendly and attentive. The bar is open to the public and on this occasion was visited by a lot of rowdy students taking over so there was not room for a lot of people to get together, also there is no large lounge only some seating in the reception area or a designated area for entertainment, this was not a problem as the entertainment they put on was abysmal, they paid of one act and the only other entertainment was a quiz of 20 questions not really a nights entertainment.
The dining room is the only was for other guests to access the bar unless you went outside and into the bar from the public area.
Breakfast was serve yourself and very nice but it was put out in the bar and in the doorway on one morning between the dining room and bar was a pair of black ladies knickers, this caused a lot of frivolity with the party for about 20 minutes until a member of staff removed the item, I would have thought they should have noticed them whilst putting out breakfast and removed them before we entered for breakfast.
Like I said it is not geared for coach parties so they need to get their acts together or don't have parties visiting.
I have not seen a recent review for here about coach parties.

The Hotel is within easy walking distance to the metro, it has ample parking at the rear of the Hotel. The rooms are clean, roomy and the beds are comfy. The breakfast is a self service buffet for cooked and light breakfasts.

We have been to this hotel before and decided to go back as we were so impressed with the restaurant food and the service of the staff. One of the restaurant staff gave us a leaflet with a great offer therefore we rebooked . On arrival it was St Patrick's Day and the place was buzzing with a great atmosphere. The bar in the hotel was very busy but the restaurant was quiet when we arrived at 2000. We asked for a pint of Stella .. Sold out . Pint of cider ..sold out .. Bottle of Chardonnay .. sold out . Quite understand due to the packed bar but we managed to get sorted. Went back for dinner next night when again the restaurant was quiet. (total of 6 people) we went through the same performance . No stock had been replenished so once again we compromised . Our table was booked for 1930 and we ordered our starters .. At 2010 we were still waiting.. After questioning we were told the electronically placed order hadn't gone through to the kitchen . We would have appreciated no one noticing if the restaurant had been busy but as I said there was a total of 6 people dining including us The lady in charge then offered us a drink then decided to give us our bottle of wine for free. When the food came I have to say the food was of excellent standard.. They just need to be better prepared and more observant ...

Booked a triple room here on a Saturday night. The hotel room it's self was small and very dated, especially the bathroom (very 70's)

The room also was so hot even with all radiators switched off. The room was facing the road so was too noisy to have the windows open. Seeing as we stayed in February I would hate to see how hot the rooms are in the summer months.
