We decided to treat ourselves to the "boutique hotel" experience and stay at the Cairns, we were a little disappointed, we had a bright room at the front of the hotel and were upgraded, a badly fitting bathroom door meant we couldn't avoid waking each other in the night, there was a large gap under the room door letting a lot of light in from the corridor. Nicely decorated but getting a bit shabby. The breakfast let it down most of all, dry croissants and not much choice, also the dining room was really cold both mornings which other people complained about too.
Getting into the city or to the trains was really easy and cheap, in fact the best thing about our stay was the taxi service that the hotel uses, really cheerful, helpful and prompt.More
