I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn to attend a function at the hotel. I was so impressed by the staff who made our weekend such a pleasure. From check-in to check-out nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has excellent facilities, with a good size pool and gym. Good quality breakfast too, as Arnie would say - I'll be back.

Good hotel have stayed once before rooms are a good size and comfortable only downside is the smell when entering the room could be product used for cleaning the carpet you get used to it once you are in. The staff are friendly and helpful and we had an excellant evening meal

Stayed here while travelling down the A1. Room was spacious and clean, liked the warm bathroom floor.
Had a meal in the restaurant in the evening. We both had steak which was well worth the quite expensive price. There was also a good selection of wines on the menu.
The staff were very friendly and sorted out a minor problem we had with our room very quickly.
There is a well stocked gym and a pool with sauna and steam room that is free to use for residents.
We had breakfast in the morning which was expensive at £13.99 per person, but there was a good selection of fruit, cereal's and full English buffet. If booked in advance, this is alot cheaper.
Overall, we will definatly use this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is well situated close to the A1, Newcastle, the Northumberland Coast and all main attractions. It was a typical Holiday Inn, which delivered to a generally good standard. It was however let down somewhat by the service. Upon check-in there was a queue of 5 customers with only person on the counter and, upon arriving at the room, the beds were terribly made up - so much so that we had to remake ...... not what you normally expect from a Holiday Inn.
