“Very clean hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 February 2013

Recently stayed here on business, very pleasant stay. Nice friendly staff, very clean rooms, food was nice. Bar prices are a little steep so I ordered a drinks tray which was put in my room, will definitely do this on my next stay. Would highly recommend the executive suites....... Money well spent.

Id describe this as a decent hotel for midweek business travelers who dont like city centre or one night stop over for Airport access. easy to find and plenty of parking, not much in the surrounding area within walking distance and very dark unlight road not suitable for and evening stroll or whatever.

Nice roomy reception / Bar area, food decent and reasonable priced.

Room (executive) decent sized, reasonably furnished with Good Complimentry goodies, wine, beer, soft drinks, water chocolate, clean but bathroom extraction rather noisy with no on/off switch

Staff seemed friendly enough though a little "here to do a job" type (then again I guess they are), no real character about the hotel

Room Tip: Executive rooms give decent free complimentry goodies.

Stayed on business trip as was working in and around the Area , I stayed here before and it is handy because its just off the motorway loads of parking , very easy to find and away from any city traffic , perfect for my use as a traveling sales rep.

It's not the most modern but its nice enough and got everything you would need , clean large rooms , large LCD TV in room , small fitness room , and swimming pool.
The bar are and lounge is fairly small but a nice area , another large tv to watch sport too. The guy running the bar was exceptional and very welcoming , friendly and efficient !. The bar food was really good and for 11 pounds I got home made curry ( tasted like it anyway!) , rice , nan and beer !

The breakfast was really good too , hot and cold buffet but loads of choice and again staff very good , reception as efficient checking in and out .

It's not the most modern or flashy holiday inn , BUT the staff and place itself is worth the money and I would stay again.

Hello TJD5,

Thank you for your comments and I am pleased you enjoyed your recent stay with us, as you have stated we currently have a curry promotion running on a Wednesday night for £10.99 and you can also purchase a bottle of Cobra beer with this for 99p. This promotion is very popular with our guests due to the quality of the homemade curry served by 2 of the chefs within our kitchen team that are from India. We hope to welcome you again soon. Kind regards, Peter Auld, Operations Manager

We had booked a spa day at this venue as an early valentines day day out. Our day was to have full use of the facilities and a hot stone massage each and use of the gym.my wife used the gym facilities more than me as she is into running at the minute.
The area around the pool was clean enough but it was absolutely freezing, the sauna was out of use so we just had the steam room which is where I spent most of my time just to keep warm.
The massage was nice enough but very brief lasting only about 20 minutes, the pool was of a good size but could have been a tad warmer as well.
Overall it was a nice day but a little more could have been done to make it a good day!

Hello David,

Thank you for your feedback, unfortunately as you have stated our Sauna was out of use on the day you visited us, this was due to unexpected maintenance works that need to be completed with the seating area. Kind regards, Peter Auld - Operations Manager

a fairly average stay quite local to home but great after a day of pampering in the spa to be able to chill and relax and not have far to travel the next day. Swift check in, upper floor room with 2 double beds, ideal for friends. The pool area has seen better days as far as deccor, however it was warm and quiet on a cold winters day. Our 2 spa treatments were relaxing and we were dealt with in a professional manner at all times We needed to provide our own robes/slippers and pool towels,we should have brought spares as the day progressed,as damp things are unpleasant, very small changing room. Had a lovely light lunch at the hotel and must give mention to Anthony in the bar who was very chirpy. We also dined in the restaurant in the evening and although very quiet we were served very well and thoroughly enjoyed our selections. A good quiet nights sleep a distant rumble of traffic, only to be expected so close to the main road. Lots of hot and cold choices for breakfast.Secure car park..

Room Tip: we had 138 upper floor, 2 double beds, nice underfloor heating in the bathroom, various pillows to s...

Checked in late, the room we were given the tv, did not work the light on the table had been in a fight at some point.
good points, breakfast was spot on, staff didnt seem greatly bothered about the tv but did move us to a new room at 12;30 at night..... not good but the room should have been checked!

Room Tip: i cannot say its a good hotel on the decore and its outdated decore in the rooms

Thank you for your recent review and sincere apologies that there was a fault with your TV. Frequently the room attendants have the TV on whilst cleaning the room so this is normally not an issue. Housekeeping should also perform a check before the room is made available to our guests and they have been reminded that this is the case.
Our bedroom, lounge and restaurant refurbishment is going ahead before the summer which we are all looking forward to.
Once again my sincere apologies. Kind regards, Norrie Oswald, General Manager

The hotel has been upgraded and benefits from that. The staff are friendly and efficient. The Executive room amenities are generous with free wine and beer plus a small envelope of gifts given at check in. Good flat screen TV but no sleep timer in it. Bathroom cramped and unheated with a noisy extraction vent in the ceiling. In room dining average and prompt.
Huge king size+ bed with 6 pillows and two cushions.
Being right on the A1 and only 10-15 mins from the airport the location is great for meetings and overnight stops.
I will use it again.
