“Pecan pie and ice cream”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

We have been coming to Vallum for years. The ice cream is always amazing and made locally. The coffee is consistently good, unlike some cafés where a cappuccino is more like a latte. On this occasion I had Pecan Pie which was unbelievable. I have read some reviews saying Vallum is pricey. It is at the top end for a cafe. But is worth the trip.

“Birthday treat”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

We went to this restaurant on the back of experiences gained at the café, which has always been very good.
However, what a disappointment. Firstly, The wording of the times for the early bird menu was very misleading. Read very carefully. Secondly, the food whilst generally ok, came in portion sizes that a 10 year old would complain at. Thirdly, cost. For what you got it was a total rip off. A piece of skirt steak not much longer than 5" by 1 1/2" and cost in excess of £15 is not acceptable. A sweet made up of 2 strawberries cut in half, a small piece of meringue and some sauce for £5.50? really?

Need I say more. Don't come here if you want to be feed, you'll only leave hungry, but do come if you want to be ripped off.

“Good experience”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

We visited the restaurant as a family group of 6 and were looked after extremely well by the 2 waiting staff on duty. They seemed to know just when to appear at the table which comes with a lot of experience. Food wise, everyone thought their meals were good although my mother thought the fish wasn't as good as it looked taste wise. My wife and myself had the tapas menu which (because of the World Cup) had a Brazilian theme to it. All of the 8 dishes were tasty and interesting. The house red wine is worth a mention as it was excellent and not over priced. Great views from the restaurant over the surrounding countryside helped the meal along

“Lovely day out, excellent”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Visited Vallum Farm tea room and ice cream parlour with the Mrs and the kids last week and I must say it was the first time we had come but we will definitely be back.
Kids played in the paddock on the play area and we sat watching from the decking in the sun with scones, baked potatoes and we had to try a few bits of the cakes and bits ... AND we all had some ice cream which we thought was some of the best ice cream we have had.
All in all the kids had a great day out, sun was out, great scenery and a relaxing feel, with fantastic friendly service.
We had a great day.
Definitely worth a visit
