The chefs whites should be called the chefs blacks as his trousers are stained and filthy, and he also goes outside to smoke with his uniform on and hands next to the bins! Not be returning!

Came for lunch with work colleagues. Probably a bit expensive to come regularly but as a one off I was quite impressed. It was a bit on the empty side when we visited but had a definite hipster vibe with the furniture and trays used. The Fat Hippo Burger was great and very filling and I'll definitely be back.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and it was worth the wait. You must book in advance or you won't get a table.

Starters are massive but really nice. We had the nachos sharer for 2 but it was easily enough for 4 people.

Main meals are also a good size and come with chunky skin on chips and a small salad.

The burger I would go as far as to say is one of the best burgers I've had.

A good atmosphere and good music.

Parking is a bit of a problem as most spaces in the surrounding area are permit holders only but there are a few spaces that allow you to park for 2 hours. Be prepared to do a bit of circling the area in the car before a space frees up.

I will definitely be returning!

We booked as a group of 16 for 5pm. Prior to our arrival we were asked to place food orders (but they didn't take desserts just incase ppl were too full and we were told to order these at the time of eating) we were also told we had a two hour slot because of another booking.
We arrived slightly early, table was ready. However the layout was the worst we've ever experienced, people had their backs to each other with no facilities for a new born baby available. Space was minimal, therefore uncomfortable and tableware was worn and the place looked unfinished. They were slow to seat us and drinks took ages to arrive, served warm with dirty glasses (incl floaters)!!!!! Requested ice three times and bottled drinks weren't refrigerated.
We requested starters to be brought out whilst we waited for the remainder of our party to arrive. 45 mins later starters were served. Staff weren't very attentive so glasses ran empty frequently. We got our mains, slowly, so whilst we tried to be polite and wait for all dishes to be served, food went cold. Burgers and salads were bland and greasy. Poor value for money. By the time we'd finished eating mains it was 6:45 and when they came to clear away our request for the dessert menu was declined due to our time being about to expire. Some of the group had saved themselves for the limited dessert options available and were obviously disappointed and remained hungry.
Whilst waiting for the bill we visited the toilets which were crammed and dirty (doors blocking our exit). They then approached us to settle the bill as the next party had arrived, we informed them they hadn't given us it. Their response was that we'd not asked for it, we found this particularly rude, given that they were in such a rush to clear up ppl were still eating. We felt practically shoved out the door. Their attitude was poor, largely down to inexperienced and untrained staff. Overall cost per head was £15 minus tip, which for the atmosphere, experience and quality of food was very overpriced. Will not be visiting again and cannot not recommend strongly enough!
