“Nice stay”

Nice over night stay, great view of the Tyne and bridges. Room was nicely decorated very spacious but very small bathroom. Lovely staff and we even got free round of drinks due to a little muddle up!!!

We stayed at Malmaison this weekend and had a really nice time. The staff couldn't do enough for you. The room had a spectacular view of the millennium bridge and was spacious with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was expensive but very good, well cooked and tasty.
My only observation was that the rooms could have done with a thorough clean, but perhaps because the whole hotel is painted in very dark colours with poor lighting , the cleaning staff couldn't see the dust on the skirting boards or the soap scum around the shower door.
The hotel is very central and within walking distance of all the Newcastle has to offer.
We hope to go back again very soon

Room Tip: As high up as possible I form then best views of the river and city

We stayed here for two friend's 40th's. Lovely hotel in a great location. We stayed friday and saturday night. We had a meal in the brasserie which was lovely, food excellent with excellent service, with a mention for our server Callum who was very helpful, efficient and friendly. Rooms are lovely, modern and clean.
The only negatives were we had asked if there were any options for birthdays or extras but the reception staff seemed unhelpful and provided no options? We had booked 5 rooms for our party which unfortunately were all on different floors, not a major problem. Also one of our rooms got an un asked for wake up call at 6.30 which she notified reception that morning, they said sorry but it wasn't on the computer but she would document it. The Sunday morning also another 6.30am call and and a very dismissive reception staff on check out when mentioned again! She was one of the group having her 40th birthday so the 2 earlier morning wake ups put a damper on it and the dismissive rather unhelpful reception staff didn't help.
Nice hotel but preferred other malmasions, the staff here disappointing taking the edge off the weekend.
Great location, with lovely rooms but if your looking for staff that give that little extra or a special occasion, choose elsewhere.

Great location on the quayside next to the Tyne by the Millenium Bridge opposite BALTIC an The Sage. The general decor (heavy on purple) was probably very trendy a number of years ago but feels a little dated now, but I can see why thus boutique style hotel attracts its loyal following.

Rooms are big with flat screen TV and good choice of channels including Sky Sports. Facilities are really good with plenty of wardrobe and storage space and first rate toiletries. Wi-fi also included complimentary.

I didn't eat in the hotel, but the menu was 'gastro bistro' style and seemed to have a good range of imaginative choices. Breakfast was a little disappointing compared to most hotels I stay in with a limited continental breakfast included, and waitress service cooked options available at significant additional cost.

Would definitely recommend the hotel for a leisure break due to its location, and for being something different

I stayed in Newcastle at this hotel whilst on business. At first I was overwhelmed by the dark purple coloured walls but after this I realised this hotel is a gem. The staff were as good as any I've dealt with. Great position overlooking the river. Nice room , bathroom and facilities.ill stay there again.

Room Tip: Any overlooking the river. The suites are very nice

We stayed for a birthday treat for me in the millenium bridge room room 203, it was spacious and beautifully decorated to my taste too. It was clean and pristine. We had a living area with double sofa a large leather coffee table and plasma screen tv, with dressing table, fully stocked fridge and a modern contemporary standard lamp. High ceilings with heavy thick grey and black velvet curtains to match the interior decor. The the bed was huge, with crisp white linen and grey and black cushions. We had a tv opposite the bed which again was plasma, a wardrobe with hair dryer, iron, ironing board and safe. Tea and coffee was Taylor's of Harrogate and the coffee was filter coffee. There was nothing to fault with the main room and living area. The bathroom was black slate and modern shower and a wash unit in dark wood and a Belfast type sink and funky taps. The only thing we would change would be the size of the bath it was a bit small. But the rest of the room made up for that. The views over the Tyne and the millenium bridge were wonderful at night with the lights changing. A wonderful stay which at £109 for the two is a bargain for the quality of the hotel and the staff. A definite must and we will be definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the millenium bridge were amazing, very quiet despite being on the quayside. Never hear...

Booked for my Boyfriends birthday and as a treat booked the Ark Royal Suite. Room was amazing, 2 baths side by side and amazing view of the bridge. Lovely, large paster bed! Great stay, would return for sure. Just a couple of things.
My Boyfriend got a free drink up to a certain value as it was his birthday, surely the hotel can stretch to a free drink for the other person aswell?!
The room was very high tech with 3 TVs and a Bose sound system. Could not figure out how to plug ipod in (if possible) could have rang Reception I suppose but it would have been good to have an information book in the room explaining everything about the room and hotel inc breakfast.
Breakfast was lovely with a great selection. If you choose off the hot menu you do pay extra. This wasnt explained to us, even though I didnt mind paying I imagine this would bother some people. Also no info in the room about a picnic breakfast you can pay extra for. Only know this from reading other comments on here.
Other than me having a little moan it was a great stay. Fab location, look forward to returning.
