A fantastic museum and well worth a visit. Free entry but you will want to make a donation as it is such a brilliant place. Excellent for both adults and children. The added bonus was the exhibition of George and Robert Stephenson's 'It's Rocket Science' development of the steam locomotive. There was also a Virtual Reality 'driving the Rocket' experience (Brilliant!) and you could also have a go at driving the new LNER engine on a simulator! Fantastic place. You need a good few hours there to do it justice.

Informative interesting museum highlighting Newcastle’s impact on the world. Visited during the time the rocket was displayed which not only showed the importance of the engine itself but the environment in the north east which led to its building

There was so much to take in....lots of interactive things to do for adults and children.

I learned so much about Newcastle....One part took us through the years...brill!!

It is a large building so prepare to spend quite a fair amount of time there.

I would recommend it for a great day out. There is also a tank situated outside...magic...

If you are visiting Newcastle make sure you visit here.

Great local museum, home of The Turbinia, a Challenger 2 tank and currently Stephenson’s Rocket. Great for kids of all ages with a number of interactive activities, a cafe and decent sized gift shop. An educational way to pass a few hours.

Took the kids on recommendation from a friend. Really pleased we went. It's free entry but we paid the suggested donation. The kids loved the science area on the 3rd floor.

The Stephenson rocket was on display and kids loved the short VR headset experience.

There was enough to keep kids entertained for a couple of hours. There is a cafe and kids loved glass lift.

Overall a great place to spend a couple of hours especially on a rainy day.
