Another visit to O'Neills. My train journey pit stop. Although getting in is a chore (thank you road works) it is still worth it. Met yet again with a smile from the lads on the bar (cheers Tom). And another top notch dinner! Went all out for a triple topped hot dog (pork, chilli and slaw) its a beast but so am i! Will reiterate earlier reviews, take the time to be nice and it pays off.

called in as opposite the station ordered 2 meals, was told no bacon and cheese burger so my partner chose to get me the same as he had ordered, a chicken burger, 2 seconds after ordering i said i would rather just have a burger, barman/waiter said too late its been ordered and was now be being cooked, 2 seconds after ordering! amazing! so added a burger to the meal, twenty three minutes later barman/waiter said the chef would let us off the chicken burger so i asked how much longer the wait to which he said it was just being cooked ?????????????, we had a train to catch. the rude obnoctious patronising barman/waiter then said i should allow time for cooking, eh you said it was being cooked twenty three minutes ago, well you will have to wait and he said directly to me he did not like my attitude? amazing as i was just confused by what he had told us, blatently lied somewhere along the line. have compllained direct to o niells and awaiting a phone call. appauledby the quality of staff and discusting service by this bar/man waiter. should consider getting a job where he has no public contact. rude discusting bad tempered young person. food ordered should all be on record

Passing back through Newcastle again and stopped off for a burger but then, at the last minutes switched and had a foot long hot dog! Fantastic, thick meaty sausage (ooh-err, missus!) before now only every had titchy supermarket hot dogs and never thought of is as a filling meal before. How wrong was i! The pub is still as lively as ever and though still a bit raucous its well managed and never felt dangerous or threatening. Cheers guys!
