Owner description: At the Tyneside Cinema, we give a trip to the pictures the sense of occasion it deserves. We show the best films in stylish and beautiful surroundings, and our varied programme ranges from brilliant films from all over the world to the best Hollywood has to offer. As the last surviving Newsreel theatre still operating as a cinema full-time in the UK, our Grade II-listed building is an important, must-see piece of heritage, not just regionally, but nationally too and it has been lovingly restored to preserve and celebrate the grandeur of its original 1937 art deco design.

I've known about the Tyneside Cinema for about 20 years but had never been in it until recently. What a fascinating place! The history of it is extremely interesting. Book a tour with one of the guides. Well worth the hour or so
Besides the historical aspect the cinema is very much up to date, showing the latest blockbusters as well a older but just as popular films.
And the coffee shop is well worth a visit
In all it's a little known about gem!

Thank Anne K

Every time you enter, you get a warm welcome! I normally get the lunch meal deal of a sarny, cake and coffee for £5 when I go to the alley cafe part and also love breakfast in the main restaurant. Too, if u want Great food and a chill out then you should defiantly visit.
