“Fantastic Pizza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 December 2013

Quite simply one of the best pizzas I've ever had, fresh tasty & plenty of topping perfectly cooked in a woodchip oven. At £7.95 I thought this was reasonably priced when compared to many of the boring chain restaurants. Nice little laid back place with decent service.

“Poor and Misleading Service before the Theatre”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2013

The presentation of the menu at Pasqualino’s is most misleading. The daily specials and the set menu are advertised side by side as though the latter included at least some of the former at the set price. This was not possible because all items but on the specials list attracted a surcharge except soup of the day and the only way to dine for the set price was to have soup or simple salad, a pasts or pizza, and a small ice cream. Whilst I can understand why they feel the nevertheless undesirable practice of charging a deposit is necessary they should not compound the mistrust of the now captive customers by not being fully forthcoming in what they are in fact offering. On the night service was at best patchy with waiters frequently appearing to be more interested in their own conversations than taking an order. So despite allowing an hour and a half to dine we felt rushed, as we are sure did others around us.

“Bland”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2013 via mobile

We thought we would try Pasqualinos for a convenient pre- theatre meal but we were very disappointed . The £8.95 special 2 course meal was very reasonably priced but apart from my husband's over- peppery minestrone soup , everything else had no taste. I couldn't taste the cheese in my pasta with cheese fondue sauce and my husbands pasta dish was watery and forgettable. When we were asked if everything was ok, we did mention that everything was bland and we were given a nice cup of coffee to compensate! We did overhear other customers who were not happy with the tiny vegetable portions and the soggy pizza crust. Give this one a miss!

“Soggy”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 November 2013 via mobile

Service was slow when waiting for the mains, inexcusable when it wasn't that busy and it was the competitive lunch time period. When the mains eventually came both pizzas were soggy and fairly saturated with water, again inexcusable for a place that makes claims to serve the best pizza you'll ever eatza.

“Disappointing pre theatre meal”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 October 2013

We decided to book at Pasqualino's as it is located within the Theatre Royal Newcastle and therefore we would not experience problems making the performance in time

Unfortunately a stag do of 10 were at the next table and were very loud, klling any ambiance the restaurant may have had.

The food was poor and the service was quite slow. I think the Theatre Royal deserves a better quality restaurant than this.
