Just returned from a night at the hotel Indigo. Upon arrival we were greeted by wonderful helpful staff, this hotel clearly cares about its front of house image. We stayed in one of the executive corner rooms with a breathtaking balcony view of Newcastle ( well worth paying a little extra for this room ) The complimentary bar was a nice touch, the bed was huge and incredibly comfy. Location wise you're right in the middle of everything, minutes from bars, restaurants and clubs and 5 mins from the main shopping area. Overall this is a chic, well run city centre hotel, the staff clearly care about its reputation and attention to detail is evident.

Just visited Indigo for one night and have to comment on how modern and refreshing this hotel is. Great location for the city's bars and restaurants. Excellent service from all of the staff. Great bar in the hotel. Nice breakfast. Fantastic rooms. We just wish that we had booked and eat in the Marcos Pierre White restaurant at the hotel instead of dining elsewhere. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

I had to visit Newcastle for business and my sister came with me to do some sightseeing and shopping. ( last week we were in Glasgow). My sister announced it was the best hotel she had ever stayed in! The room was very pleasant, no view but we were in the city centre. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were excellent, very friendly and extremely helpful. As the weather was bad we dined in the restaurant, if you want veggie you have to ask for the menu. The breakfasts were exceptional. Freshly cooked to order. Because of the weather I enquiries about the roads, and the staff checked this out for me. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely will be going back.

Stayed at this hotel this weekend as my youngest son was going to Newcastle Uni. The hotel is in a great location. Its very clean and new, so really nice. The staff were friendly. In the room was a small fridge full of complimentary items which was a really nice touch. We had a balcony with our room had the weather been nicer we could have sat outside and had a complimentary drink after a busy afternoon moving our son in.

The bar area and the lobby are really nice you look out of a large glass window. The atmosphere in the bar area was really nice. All in all a really enjoyable stay.

The reception desk at this modern brand new hotel sets the scene for what is a really enjoyable well situated hotel in Newcastle's city centre. The people who work here are really exceptional the Australian at the reception desk and her colleagues all couldn't do enough for us and this hotel is brillantly managed so that everything runs like clockwork.
We stayed for two nights over a weekend to visit our son who was working there for a few weeks after a long stint abroad.
This place has a number of huge plusses.
1. The rooms are delightful, very well appointed with beautiful Egyptian cotton bed sheets, excellent television and lovely bathroom.
2, The convenient car park is really a huge asset - on two levels - suggest you enter by the first entrance rather than the lower second. The parking spaces are wider and this level is more convenient for the hotel.
3. The foyer is lovely and has an array of very comfortable luxury seating
4. The restaurant is a real treat with an exciting practical menu. Low cost eating of the highest order.
5. The position, very close to riverside and to the main railway station.

We also ate at No6 in the Baltic across the river with its stunning views. Hardly cheap, but good value for money with an excellent wine list.

Room Tip: The room 209 was very quiet and very well curtained in the evening so let in nil light - which is wh...

My wife & I had just one overnight stay in this hotel but wish we couid have stayed longer.
Yes it is a new hotel, but the cleanliness of the rooms was excellent & the attention to detail first class. My wife appreciated the complimentary snacks in the fridge. She must have her snack fix before retiring.
Dinner in the Marco P W Steak Bar was excellent. My wife's Spatch cock chicken was succulent & my calves liver was cooked pink to perfection. The green beans had crunch & the homemade chips were to die for. To follow my wife had a lovely bread & butter pudding & I had athe cheese board with four very tasty local cheeses. My only criticism was that there was not a choice of ports. I feel the introduction of one would benefit the hotel & perfectly compliment the end of a great dinner
Finally a mention of the wonderfully attentive staff & the excellent service they gave us from start to finish of our all too brief stay. Special mention to the lads behind the bar who worked their socks off on a exceptionally busy Sat night

Room Tip: We found the King double overlooking the car park ideal

Recently stayed at Indigo for the 2012 Great North Run. Our booking was moved to Indigo by the Hilton who 'conveniently' overbooked and whom 'appeared' to prioritise their contract with celebrities and elites over our party who for last 7 years have been raising money for charity.

However, this was an absolute blessing in disguise. We were met with great customer service, a central location, a clean and nicely laid out bar. We didn't get chance to eat at the adjoining Marco Pierre White restaurant but this looks to be a stand out addition.

Our room was lovely. My wife and I were travelling up from London with our 4 month son and the room catered well for us all. Whilst there was no bath which was initially challenging, the hand shower proved more than adequate.

Staff were excellent and seemed personable to our needs. Breakfast was good, nicely tailored for the Run and then for our second morning all the niceties you might expect.

Despite doing the Run, I had chance to use the gym. Small but very well equipped with a couple of the latest treadmills and cycles and a few weights.

Finally and perhaps what sets the Customer Service apart from any other hotel was the fact that Indigo offered to fix our rate and book our room for the 2013 Run. It was such a simple gesture but one that is appreciated. No more waiting to get bumped like other hotel chains.

Thank you to all the staff at Indigo for adding to our experience of a fine weekend.
