Booked online (after checking TripAdvisor reviews); needed somwhere for one night with car parking & within walking distance of Northumbria University for an Open Day.
Everything was wonderful ~ ease of parking/efficiency & friendliness of reception/size & design of (twin) room/smart, modern shower room (including extending-illuminated-magnifying make up-shaving mirror/comfy beds & pillows/billowy duvets/unexpected but very welcome free mini-bar/free wifi/delicious breakfast (in Marco Pierre White's restaurant. Every Hotel should be like this (& it's a mystery why they are not because the formula is so simple ~ overall quality service with lovely details)
My only regret is that, if my daughter does not pick the Uni, i will not get to stay there again!

I stayed at the Indigo Hotel in Newcastle for one night in October on business. Fantastic well-appointed rooms and friendly and efficient service. The complementary snacks and magazine in the room were a nice touch.

Really nice hotel, very clean with great rooms. Bathrooms were very spacious, especially the shower. you could also play the sound from the tv into the bathroom!
Room had flat screen tv with all free view channels, iron and ironing board and hair dryer.
Room has a complimentary mini bar which is restocked each day with drinks and chocolate! Room also has safe and tea/coffee facilities. Also complimentary wifi.

Breakfast was good, witha choice of cooked breakfast or pastries/cereal options. Juice and coffee served to the table.

Hotel is very close to bars and restaurants, and Eldon square shopping centre. Also only a 2 minute walk from Newcastle central station, make sure you come out the grainger street exit!!

Room Tip: Higher floors seem quieter

I stayed at Hotel Indigo for a night 2 weeks ago. The hotel is trying to be a bit too modern. The rooms felt cold and a bit too like a hospital waiting room for my like. The beds were ok, the fan made noises all night and you could hear everything that was going on in the room next door...

The shower pressure wasn't great and because there is no door to the shower, it felt even colder than it was.

There was no remote control in the room, so couldn't change the chanel on the TV.

The bar and restaurant were good. Had a lovely meal in the evening. Breakfast wasn't so good though...

Just spent 4 nights in September 2012, 3 on Prioriy Points and one paid.
Parked the car , 11 pounds a night, to be expected in the center of 'old newcastle' known as Granger town.
My son and I checking in and checking out was the local celebrity Gaz (Geordie Shore MTV) .. nice Range Rover Gaz ! Great rims !
So you get the boutique hotel feel as you walk in ..
Check in a breeze, Staff super friendly and efficient. Had my reservation, Platimum priority (or maybe a mere Gold by now)
Twin on the fourth floor, had a small balcony, nice
Rooms are very well appointed, corporate indigo ( not Premier Purple)
'complimentary mini bar (yea I thought, heard that before) but it trully is , a couple of beers and sodas and snacks..
Hotel is new 2011 so no wear and it was clean, goodies in the bathroom and complimentary emergency (toothpaste etc) a call away.
    Highlights
    - Room service Menu simple but great quality,we had the Shepherds pie 3 x and the Penne twice, Shepherds pie, lamb, simple but perfect, need the recipe , and obviously home made.
    - People make a business and everyone was overboard , thought I was in Asia for hospitality with geordie accents !
    - Has a Marco Pierre White restaurant, didnt try it as out on the 'toon' every night, next visit.
    - Used the Concierge / front desk once to recommend a sports bar to watch football, they came back with a great recommendation.
    - We did try the bottled beer named after MPW's greyhound, really good, but ran out after 2 bottles..

Lowlight - Only one, Breakfast, thought I would try the full English, as the Kitchen is MPW right ?
    - Took a long while, Cumberland Sausage and Black pudding dry, had been cooked early. The egg was very very small (a large Free range egg is cheap) , and the hash browns (we are brits but live in Texas) - well it was the usual triangle of processed potato(?) you would expect on a Motorway cafe, guys, shred some potatoes and fry them .. simples....
    - I took a couple of bites and sent it back, got myself some toast from the buffet. The tea is also suspect, put on a good English breakfast (Northern) tea as standard and leave the Earl Grey or whatever as an option. On the positive they picked up on the sent back plate piled high with 'food' and asent over the Jnr manager to ask me what they could do .. I said I was OK and left it to them. They didnt charge. Not the point.

Dont get me wrong, I studied and lived in newcastle in the 80's, went back to the sister hotel (Holiday Inn) last year for a reunion (Fine, loud and a Hen Party Central as expected) . Was planning on going there again and spotted this Hotel on the Priority points website for the same 25K points ,

The hotel is brilliant and well above par. I had to stay an additional Saturday night and paid 184 pounds by memory, more than I expected. I will return without doubt but book early !

(By the way my Sackripper 'name' is just a reference to my first ever job, cutting and emptying sacks)

Room Tip: I think all rooms are good, Stayed in 2 and looked at 4 . 4th floor has balconies for a late night cigar
