“Good city hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2013

I stayed with my boyfriend in April 2013. We came to Newcastle for a match and this hotel was perfect. We booked the most basic room, which was quite small but perfectly formed. Bathroom had all the usual cosmetics, just a shower though. The location was excellent, a 2 min walk from the train station and 5 mins from the main shopping place. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that but had drinks and the staff were lovely.

I have stayed at Hotel Indigo twice now and really can't recommend it enough! From the moment you arrive you are made to feel very welcome and the staff are so friendly. The rooms are very clean, modern and extremely comfortable. I never sleep well in hotels but this one is an exception. The beds are fab! The kindle on the bed is a very nice touch too!

The food is also great here and the service quick and attentive.

I can't wait to visit again!

This hotel is in the perfect location to walk around Newcastle. The rooms are clean and nice. Room service is fantastic...we ordered 6 times. The steakhouse in the hotel is fantastic. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only downside are the doors to the rooms. They are very loud when they close. You can hear everyone's door. We would stay here again.

Stayed here for 1 night on Sunday May 5th. Was checked in swiftly by polite friendly staff. The room was very nice, well furnished with a huge double bed. Nicely air conditioned and with a free mini bar! Bathroom had a big rain shower which was lovely to stand under. Location is super, just 1 minute walk from Central Station and all the shops etc. would definitely stay here again.

Have just returned from Newcastle after staying at Hotel Indigo for our anniversary. Customer service appears to be top priority for hotel staff with us even receiving a hand written happy anniversary card on our bed in the hotel room! What a lovely touch.
Our room was a good size, spotless and even included an excellent selection of drinks and nibbles. The location of this hotel is great being so close to the train station and also to the city centre.
Overall we will definitely recommend Hotel Indigo and hope to return again soon!

I visit Newcastle frequently for business and usually stay at the Jury's Inn as it's close to my office. I'll not be staying anywhere else from Indigo in the future. Great value, great location and great service.

I found the staff friendly and professional and the hotel standard was high. Popped into the MPW restaurant too, which provided more evidence of thr hotel's excellence.

This hotel sets the benchmark for other 4* hotels. The decor was bold and bright, the rooms spacious and airy (and spotless), the bathrooms well appointed and the beds very comfortable.

Am interesting design touch was a large feature wall at the head of the bed which depicted the interior glass roof of a Victorian train station. This lent to an optical illusion of incredible space.

The general look of the place was almost immaculate. It is obvious that maintenance is a high priority here and it was hard to find a scuffed corner, or a chipped wall within the building; even in high traffic areas.

The comfortable temperature of the interior of the rooms and the public areas was enhanced by the air-conditioning which usually either doesn't work or the grilles and vents are filthy.

Breakfast was pretty faultless and the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was delicious.

On-site parking at a reasonable price.

I almost always try and book a hotel with a pool and a sauna when I have to travel away, so that was the only thing I missed. In summary, this is maybe one of the best hotels I have stayed in at this price point.

Room Tip: Corner suites with lots of light.

Hello cameron4235,

We really are proud to have such a lovely review, and can't thank you enough for your time!
We're so happy you found the value at the heart of our luxury. Also on a side note, there is a fabulous Olympic swimming pool incredibly local to us under the Newcastle City Council that is an absolute must for avid swimmers :)
