Reviewed 27 October 2013

Great hotel, bar and restaurant. Beautiful rooms and professional friendly service. Forgot an item in our room... unlike so many hotels when I called them - they immediately went to look for the item and called me back 15 mins later to say they had found it for me.
The Marco Pierre White restaurant is fantastic and really good value for money.

As I live in Newcastle I'd never stayed in a hotel there until now and Wow what a start, this is an awesone hotel, right in the middle of everything, but on a quieter road, so you arent disturbed by noise.

Its very modern and all the public areas are very smart and well looked after.

The staff on reception were spot on and efficient.

The room was a really good size, again spotlessly clean, with a massive King bed, and I do mean massive, that was so comfortable The room had everythig you would need and more, Ipod dock, plenty of mirrors, lights, sockets, safe, mini-bar stocked with soft drinks, crisps and chocolate - all free : ) iron and ironing board and a proper powerful hairdryer.

There was a big flat screen TV with a great picture, as you don't always get a good picture in hotels.

The bathroom, although not massive was large enough, with a big walk in shower and waterfall shower head, the basin and toilet were Villeroy and Boch, the soap, shower gel etc are supplied by Aveda, all in all a very classy bathroom.

All the staff we came upon were very pleasant and helpful, special mention to the blonde lady in charge of showing guests to the tables for breakfast, incredibly cheerful and welcoming for so early in the morning. If you pre pay on check in for breakfast it is £12, this covers continental and all cooked items, a great deal, it would have been double in most other hotels.

All in all, I can't praise this hotel enough and for no other reason than it was a great experience we are going back.

This was my second trip here with my husband.

At first we were given a room on the second floor with an adjoining door to the next room, a quick phone call to reception and it was sorted out very quickly for us.

we were moved to a room on the 3rd floor. The room was lovely and clean with the extra bonus of complimentary items in the mini bar. The shower i the bathroom was amazing with a nice range of aveda toiletries.

The bar was nice and cosy with a professional singer on one of the nights we stayed. The bar also serves the most amazing cocktails! Staff were very attentive in the bar area with a never ending supply of bar snacks!

Breakfast was lovely with lots of choices, the pancakes are a nice option.

will be staying again!!!

The rooms, restaurant and all areas are immaculate.
Rooms are spacious, beds superb and having speakers to play music in the bathroom is an added bonus!
Fab breakfasts and top quality service!

We stayed for two nights on our second visit to this hotel. Superb location especially if you're arriving by train.
Lovely warm welcome at reception plus an upgrade to a room with a balcony which would have been lovely had it not rained all weekend! A free mini bar included too. We also had a chocolate truffle treat with 'Welcome Back' written in chocolate on the plate.
The first morning breakfast was a buffet which I'm not a fan of, however it was all really fresh and lovely. The second morning the we ordered from the menu and wished the buffet was back as the food was actually a lot nicer, it was still ok though.
The bar service is very good and the staff are all really friendly.
I thought that the executive room might have had a bath rather than just a shower but the shower was nice.
Nice comfy bed, great facilities, tea and coffee in the room too which is always nice.
We will definitely be back on our next visit to Newcastle.

We stayed at the Indigo at the beginning and end of a cycling holiday along Hadrian's Wall, and it was a most welcome luxury to do so. The staff weren't at all fazed by us turning up with our bikes in reception, and were incredibly friendly and helpful on both nights we stayed.
We liked the modern decor, especially the very nicely appointed shower room. The bedroom was comfortable and we appreciated having a room safe.
The location is brilliant for exploring the city centre. We didn't eat in the restaurant as it seemed quite pricy. Breakfast was a little disappointing if you didn't want cooked, but perfectly adequate.
I would definitely check out Indigo hotels when staying elsewhere after our experience in Newcastle. I can't comment on the price as it was part of an inclusive package.
