Stayed for business, good location for the train station, room was nice, free mini-bar was a good feature. Staff were friendly enough and the breakfast was nice - but it wasn't the best hotel I've stayed in and it wasn't the worst...

First off, the good points. Excellent first impressions with efficient and friendly staff at check in...thanks Elise! Rooms were modern and well equipped. Breakfast was fine...well cooked and a lot of choice (no baked beans though!).

Whilst I appreciate this is a city centre hotel and that there would be some noise,I didn't expect not to sleep the night we stayed. First of all, there was a noisy hen party on our floor. Then throughout the night, I heard everything that was going on in the street. I would have expected a hotel of this standard to have much better glazing. Not sure I would stay here again for the price of the hotel...it is a high price to pay not to sleep!

Hi GeordieGirl123,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your much need and valuable feedback. I am glad you found our rooms to be well equipped and enjoyed the breakfast. Next time you stay with us be sure to ask for baked beans with your breakfast. They don't come as standard with the Grainger Breakfast, but we do have them.
It is deeply regrettable that you didn't have a great night sleep at Hotel Indigo Newcastle. We have staff conducting walk-arounds throughout the night to keep noise to a minimum, but please feel free to call Reception at any time if you are woken up by noise or have a noisy neighbour. We also have rooms that are positioned on higher floor and face away from the street outside, so in future we can ensure that you are in a quieter room.
I hope this experience does not prevent you from staying with Hotel Indigo again in the future, and i would very much like to see you back with us at Hotel Indigo Newcastle.

Kind Regards,

Mark Winter

We stayed in this hotel as a get away with cocktails and a fantastic meal. Couldn't have asked for any more. We had a fantastic anniversary and the staff made the experience fantastic! Would recommend to anyone and we will be back!!

Only stayed for 1 night, but this is how to meet customer requirements really well. Plenty of secure car parking, very pleasant & helpful staff both on reception & in restaurant. Room was light clean & airy & so well equipped with iron & ironing board, Ipod/Iphone docking station, good reading lights, smart bathroom.with huge luxurious bath towels. This was all every impressive.

Didn't eat in restaurant apart from breakfast, but once again fantastic cheery & efficient service even if a bit on pricey side.

Well worth a visit & credit to management.

Stayed at Hotel Indigo for 2 nights on my first trip to Newcastle. Two minutes away from the railway station and two minutes from the city centre. Very helpful and pleasant reception staff. The room was spotless and well equipped. I cannot comment on the food as I ate out.

Perfect. We had a great stay here last weekend. Lovely room. Very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Worth every penny. I was given some artwork by a friend whilst we stayed in Newcastle but I had no receptacle to store these in to keep them safe. I asked a lady on reception if she had a cardboard tube just on the off chance and she did. Very helpful and she also offered to keep them safe in the office. Thank you so much for a great nights stay.

When I review hotels before booking, I always look at the average and below ratings and I agree with a lot of the comments. Yes, rooms are smallish, don't have a bath and it is at the high end price wise.
But, the pluses : plenty of helpful , efficient staff, good central location with reasonable parking ( like it of not, every city centre hotel in the UK charges no small amount ) good bar , with table service and nice cocktails, free wifi throughout, safe plus Aveda toiletries. Breakfast - I just don't understand criticisms as it good quality produce, freshly cooked.
We have stayed at a number of Newcastle hotels over the last 10 years. In my view , this is the best for us, as trips to Newcastle are infrequent so it's worth saving for.
Two gripes: no kippers at breakfast, although I'm told they used to do them, and no real ales - on our last visit there were a couple by local small brewers and it's a shame large chains don't feel able to support them

Room Tip: We chose a balcony in February !

Hi Jaymartian,

Thank you for taking the time out to review Hotel Indigo Newcastle. I am extremely pleased to read that we are your no.1 choice of hotel in Newcastle!
It is unfortunate that we no longer serve kippers at breakfast and couldn't satisfy your desire on this occasion, but i am pleased that you found our other breakfast options to be of good quality and freshly cooked. I have passed on your comments regarding real ale to our Food and Beverage Manager. Hopefully the next time you stay with us we might have some real ale available!
