Granger Town is a historical central area of Newcastle and was the brainchild of Richard Grainger. Comprising of the Theatre Royal, Grey Street and Grainger Street, to name a few, this area has some beautiful architecture. However the area around Grainger Street and Grey Street is a shopping section and all of the ground levels have, over the years, become shops and to a degree detracts from the heritage of the area. At Christmas the area around Greys Monument becomes a buzz with local stalls and markets. However, throughout the year Grainger Town stands tall and proud to it's humble beginnings back in the early 1800's.

This on one of the main shopping area of Newcastle. The grainger market is placed in the centre of the area and dates back to victorian era. It's a place you can buy fruit, veg, meat, fish, plants and clothes. worth a look

I was flabbergasted by how meaty the meat stalls smelt. Wow, such meat, many smells, 10/10, would smell again.
