Owner description: The Biscuit Factory is the UK’s largest independent commercial art, craft & design gallery set in the heart of Newcastle’s cultural quarter. Housed in a former Victorian warehouse, our beautiful gallery spaces are set over two floors and display a range of exciting contemporary fine art, sculpture, original prints and jewellery, quality craftsmanship and design led homewares. The Biscuit Factory hosts four major exhibitions a year, representing the work of around 250 artists each season, so there is always something new to see every time you visit.

I regularly attend the Biscuit Factory and have done for many years. The exhibitions change on a regular basis and like all similar places, some are to your own personal taste and some are not.
Have bought artwork at this location on quite a number of occasions using the OWN ART system which is 10 payments and interest free.
I love the place !!! (and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful)

Hi there,

Thank you for your ongoing support of the gallery and the artists that we represent and thank you for your kind words about our team. We do try hard to make our visitors feel very welcome and to break down any misconceptions that galleries are not for everyone. We encourage all to spend some time here, whether they are looking to purchase art work or are just interested in talking a look around our beautiful building.

The Own art scheme is another great way to make the gallery and buying art work as accessible as possible. It is a very popular scheme offering an interest free loan for original work priced from £100 to £25,000. Which means first time buyers and seasoned collectors can take advantage!

We hope to see you again.
Many thanks,
Rachel

Quirky gallery with a vast range of crafted goods. Paintings, sculpture, jewellery and glass etc. Something to suit all tastes and a wide price range from modest to well into four figure sums. All beautifully displayed to show goods to their best advantage. A very pleasant way to spend an afternoon browsing with hopefully an unexpected find to cherish.

It is simply an amazing venue, well designed and laid out. The art work while very dominated by a local perspective is nonetheless inspiring and great value.

We may have misunderstood the purpose of The Biscuit Factory as we had hoped to find some affordable art, maybe by a young artist or student. Some of the work on show
there is truly beautiful, and all of it is interesting, but sadly you either have to be quite well off and/or a serious collector if you want to take any of it home. It's still worth a visit if you are interested in galleries and are prepared to stray off the beaten track.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for letting us know your thoughts around affordability of our collections.

Affordability is certainly something that we hope to be able to bring to the art market through a number of approaches, including sourcing emergent artists and makers, representing a range of price points from £20 upwards and championing interest free purchase schemes.

I'm sorry that you felt on this occasion that there wasn't something that perhaps matched a budget you had in mind, but I am pleased that you enjoyed our collections and visiting the gallery. I would encourage you to keep checking our new website and to keep coming back to see us when you can, as our collections change at least every 3 months with new work coming in all of the time.

We hope to see you again soon,
Many thanks
Rachel
