1st. visit - Groupon deal. Had not read the reviews. Maybe just as well! A cold, snowy night and was looking forward to the Indian meal. The cafe (its not a restaurant) could have been warmer. Service slow. It took awhile to be given a menu. Discovered its not licensed but a nearby shop was, so got two of the largest bottles of beer available, as there is a £2 per bottle corkage charge! (cans not allowed)
Limited choice menu. 4 starters £4.50 - £5.50: 4 salad £3 - £7: 4 veg. mains £4.75 - £9.99: 3 meat mains £6.50 - £7.50: 2 deserts £4.75. 9 side dishes to £2 95.
The prawn starter was very good! Chicken main (hot) was pleasant enough. Lamb main was short on meat. The food took an age to come. Seemed to be only one lass serving and one person in the kitchen. Only 4 couples in whilst we were there, so it wasn't busy.
We lit our table candle (to help warm out hands!) and it would have looked better if more candles had been lit. Not a lot of 'atmosphere' for an evening meal. As a Groupon deal 'value for money' was good, but would resent paying full prices.
