I came in here one morning last week for breakfast, wasn't expecting a lot as this is a small cafe I'd never heard of before. I ordered the eggs royal, it came out beautifully presented to my table. The taste matched the appearance. One of the best I've had. I was also presented with an evening menu which looked lovely and the prices are very reasonable too. The latte I had to accompany my breakfast was also delicious. 100% coming back for an evening meal. This place is a little gem. Definetly worth a visit. You won't be disappointed! Lovely staff, lovely food, lovely atmosphere. 10/10

“A nice change from the usual!”
Reviewed 11 February 2013

Got a Groupon, then read the reviews on here and feared the worst, but thought well, I've paid anyway so nothing to lose!
When we got there it was clear that loads of other people were using up their Groupons before they expired, as the place was rammed.
We had to wait 10 to 15 minutes beyond the time we had booked, but that was no big deal, it's a hard thing to call for a small neighbourhood place like this.
The order was taken in good time, and the food arrived in good time too, despite the place being very busy indeed.
And the food was very tasty too, a pleasant change from the takeaway or average curry house curry, very fresh tasting with an absence of that oil slick that so often spoils the latter and requires Rennies later!
Had prawn starters, a nice appetiser, and then a chicken curry and a chick pea curry, which tasted distinct from each other and very fresh, as I said - with one rice and 2 chapattis we were too full to finish the meal even though we wanted to!
The service was very pleasant, and overall it was very good value - it would have been even without a Groupon, and we'll probably be back for a midweek evening meal when we don't want to cook - it's kind of like home cooking, and a cafe rather than a restaurant for a romantic twosome, but none the worse for all of that!

“1st. visit on a snowy January night! And it's BYO!”
Reviewed 1 February 2013

1st. visit - Groupon deal. Had not read the reviews. Maybe just as well! A cold, snowy night and was looking forward to the Indian meal. The cafe (its not a restaurant) could have been warmer. Service slow. It took awhile to be given a menu. Discovered its not licensed but a nearby shop was, so got two of the largest bottles of beer available, as there is a £2 per bottle corkage charge! (cans not allowed)
Limited choice menu. 4 starters £4.50 - £5.50: 4 salad £3 - £7: 4 veg. mains £4.75 - £9.99: 3 meat mains £6.50 - £7.50: 2 deserts £4.75. 9 side dishes to £2 95.
The prawn starter was very good! Chicken main (hot) was pleasant enough. Lamb main was short on meat. The food took an age to come. Seemed to be only one lass serving and one person in the kitchen. Only 4 couples in whilst we were there, so it wasn't busy.
We lit our table candle (to help warm out hands!) and it would have looked better if more candles had been lit. Not a lot of 'atmosphere' for an evening meal. As a Groupon deal 'value for money' was good, but would resent paying full prices.
