I love this place and have been a few times now, real tasty pies with lovely mashed potato , served on a tin plate .

Get a cosy spot next to the fire in the winter and you could stay all day.

Staff always friendly and helpful. A great pub. Nothing fussy few choices and it works .

We have been the The Red House many times for pie and mash, as a couple and with family or friends, and they have always been as impressed as us. The pies are gorgeous and the mash lovely and creamy. Drinks may be a little over priced. Service is good, and the pub has a great atmosphere. Will definitely return again and again!

We went on Wednesday, which is two meals for £10. The pork pie with cider etc is so tasty, lovely shortcrust pastry, fab gravy, gorgeous mash. Piping hot, pleasant bar staff, great old boozer. Highly recommended. They keep it simple but it works brilliantly.

Interesting building, tasty food, friendly staff, excellent beers and good background music - so glad we chose to shelter from the rain and not go to a chain pub/restaurant.

Called in before for a drink and they have a great choice of beer. Decided that we would eat here on our next visit to Newcastle.
Called in on Sunday lunchtime. Again a great choice of beers. Had a lamb and mint pie with honey and mustard mash. Partner had steak with cheesy mash. Pies where great, could just do with a bit more mash!
Staff has always been very friendly on our visits.
Lots of little nooks and crannies to find a seat inside if you don't want to be in the main bar areas. Nice to sit outside too when the sun's out.
