I've been going to the Free Trade Inn for over three decades on and off and have seen a few management changes, some better than others, but at present this hostelry has never been better in my view despite trends and new bars appearing (and it has to be said disappearing too) overnight it seems. The good choice of ales and ciders are all very well kept - Yarl being my favourite of late. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Newcastle. Great views along the Tyne towards the bridges too.
