“Great little stop off!”
Reviewed 7 May 2013 via mobile

Stopped here on a long bike ride for some much needed refreshment and it's a fabulous little place. They can supply bike locks if you don't have your own and there is also wifi! The views down the river are amazing and it's nice to be surrounded by cyclists! Toilets too! Well recommended for a weary cyclist

“Not just for cyclists”
Reviewed 8 March 2013

Have been here at least four times so far, all during the summer when you can sit outside to enjoy the beautiful views down the river to the bridges. It is far enough along the quayside to be away from the hustle but close enough to walk in if needed. I especially enjoyed the goats cheese wrap and despite having a very small serving area they seem to manage well serving lots of people. Lots of tables outside (not tried eating inside yet) and you can hire bikes or you can do the walk up to Jesmond Dene from there.

“Not just for cyclists!”
Reviewed 14 February 2013

The Cycle Hub is a shop, maintenance workshop and general drop-in centre for cyclists; bikes can also be hired and advice can be obtained about local walks, history and cycling routes. Within the Hub is the cafe, where fresh, homemade food can be obtained at a very reasonable price. The fare is straightforward - jacket spuds, paninis etc. My friend had a bowl of chilli, which he pronounced excellent; another had the homemade soup. Two of us had the superb, homemade Homity Pie (cheese, onion and potato), which was served with a range of delicious salads. A range of gourmet pies is also available. There is also a range of cakes, ranging from the "healthy" to the downright coronary-inducing. The cafe is licensed, serving a small range of local and continental bottled beers. The service was friendly, efficient and welcoming. Highly recommended. You can find the Hub right on the Quayside at Ouseburn, close to the Tyne Bar and just a short walk east from the Millennium Bridge.
