“Great on or off the bike”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2014

Great spot to refuel mid bike ride but i am also a regular without the bike. Fantastic coffee and lunches although the second half of the ride is often slower after filling up on the cakes :-). Staff always friendly and the feel of the place is always warm and welcoming with a nice atmosphere, especially when the cycling is on the TV.

Also has unquestionably the best view of any cafe in Newcastle and it is easy to lose an afternoon in the summer sitting outside with a coffee or a beer.

“What's not to like?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2014

Great place for meeting clients - bacon butties are hard to beat, but those cakes... oh boy, they always have my name on! Really friendly staff, nice relaxed atmosphere, and one of the best views on the Tyne. Roll on summer so we can sit outside again!

My father and I wanted to go for a cycle around Newcastle and booked with the Cycle Hub. All staff were very friendly and so accommodating. Was hassle-free throughout and they provided great info and tips for how to get to where we wanted to go. Would higlhy recommend!

“Good nosh for hungry tummies!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2014 via mobile

We had to be out of our apartment for 11am so had spent the morning cleaning and packing to be out on time, so by 11 we were all starved. We left the car at The Sage and had a lovely ten minute walk along the quayside to The hub. Great plates of cheesy beans on toast, salmon and cream cheese bagels, soup, and the naughtiest looking chocolate fudge/ tiffin type of things which we resisted! BUT... no eggs! I do like eggs benedict for brunch, however, what we had was good and reasonably priced ...
The ambience is interesting too. All in what looks like a cycle workshop with long or short benches to sit at or space outside on some decking.
If I lived in Newcastle or Gateshead I would definitely be a regular, even if it was just for coffee at the end of a stroll out of town.
