I enjoyed a lovely meal at Shiraz last week with a friend at the newly opened Shiraz restaurant. As a fan of Indian food but not your typical greasy korma's and tikka's, I thought the food at Shiraz was fresh and full of authentic flavour. Tucked away up a stair case, Shiraz is opposite Little Saigon in the middle of the Bigg market. It was modern and comfortable inside, not too big or small, with Indian back round music, perfect for me and my mate to catch up. I started with Paneer Pakora, which, if you have never tried the Indian soft cheese, is a must! I could have easily ate a plate full of these alone. For main I had the butter chicken, which came in a lovely creamy tomato based sauce and was a huge portion with plenty of chicken. The best bit for me was the peshwari Naan bread which was freshly baked and really tasty. Man I have been dreaming about that Naan!! I have to say I left Shiraz completely full, bloated and happy! The service was great too and our waiter was really attentive. The menu looks really good and I will definitely be returning soon to sample the other dishes and of course that Peshwari Naan!
