Our food was very tasty, I think we were there a little early so it was kind of empty when we were there, so that hurt the atmosphere a little. But overall it was very good.

Firstly this is not Indian food, even the dishes are named like Indian dishes but they are no way close to what Indian cuisine is all about.
very disappointing food and flavours.
The silver lining was staff was very good.
Will never go there again

Visited recently with my partner after reading review on tripadvisor - it's well up there in the 'Indian' style category, and I'm fairly new to Newcastle so thought we'd give it a bash. Nothing fancy from the outside, but the staff were very friendly upon arrival (we'd booked in advance) and we were seated and ordered and were brought drinks promptly. Had noticed before going that there is a Groupon voucher doing the rounds at the moment, but that this only applied Monday-Sunday.

Not a big deal, as they run a 'Happy Hour' menu for orders placed before 8pm which was £9.95 per person for a starter, main, and rice or a naan, which is great value by most peoples' books! Starters were fine, but disappointed with the mains. Neither of us had more than 4 or 5 pieces of meat within a very oily sauce - I didn't finish all of mine, and there was a yellow film that had surrounded the sauce after 10 minutes or so. Visible film of oil coating the naan, too... All in all, pretty greasy and no better than average (hence the rating)... Level of spice was fine, and the waitress even offered to have my girlfriend's dish made milder as she saw that she was concerned that it could be too spicy.

It remains great value - around £30 for three drinks between two people and two decent sized meals, but let down by the standard of the food. I can't comment on the standard dinner menu, which was far more extensive than the happy hour selection, so please bear this in mind. Unlikely we'll return - plenty of other restaurants to visit in the city!

I was given a groupon voucher as a gift for this restaurant so wasn't sure what to expect. Our voucher was for a meal for 4 people but only myself, husband and 8 year old son went along. I wasn't sure it would be suitable for our son due to the location but thought we would give it a try and make an early booking. On our arrival we were welcomed by friendly staff and taken to our table. We ordered our food and the staff were more than happy to explain what the dishes were like and went out of their way to ensure our son had a good evening. The food was delicious with very generous portions. We thought nothing more about the food voucher being for 4 when there were only 3 of us. We were asked to choose a starter and main course to take away to ensure we had excellent value for money from the voucher. We came away with our goody bag after having a wonderful evening and did not encounter any problems in the bigg market with a young child. We will be back again.
