“Vegetarians nightmare!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

What can I say, apart from the fact that if you are a vegetarian...do not eat here. Why would you advertise a veggie Sunday lunch ...only to be told the gravy is not Vegetarian.

Garlic bread cooked on a dirty grill clearly used to cook meat. Even pieces of burger stuck to the bottom of bread, veggie burger still frozen in the middle? [ Well I suppose it can't kill you if it's undercooked vegetables] must be the opinion of the kids cooking this crap.

The smoky bean wrap, well if you can call it a wrap, more like a mess, could be nice if done with care, even the desserts are rubbish. How can you make apple pie and custard taste bad?

For meat eaters a little more care is taken, but the food just tastes bad. If I ran this establishment, I would fire all the kitchen staff. And start again. Shame really, nice pub in the village could do so much better without the village idiots in the kitchen. I will be reporting this place to the health department, as more than a few issues have been raised...hygiene, cross contamination etc.

I am very unhappy with this place and used to be a regular living locally, but will go for the killing worth arms down the road anytime over this place.

Do not be disillusioned with the sizzlers chain, as they are not all like that. I have been to the powder monkey at Wallsend and that is a sizzlers chain and the food is 10/10 and no. Need to worry about cleanliness or cross contamination.
The Plough Inn.... Unless you just want a pint, give this one a miss. Don't think it will be there much longer, already losing customers.

“Brilliant place to eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2013

Staff always seem to be friendly and caring, I ordered steak and chicken combo and it came out sizzling away which is brilliant, the manager always seems to have time to come up and talk to you and over all I think its a brilliant place...

“Cheap and cheerful”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013

Very good deals and great priced food. Most of the time the food is good however I have had totally raw chicken skewers before and to compensate me I got a free glad ov wine and...another round of chicken skewers..just what I fancied! - least they were cooked this time! They said it was due to them being cooked on the wrong setting or something!
