“authentic, no-frills chinese”
Reviewed 7 December 2013

popped in here for an early dinner with 2 overtired children. chose it from a street full of Chinese restaurants on the basis the only other customers seemed to be Chinese. décor no-nonsense. it's all about a quick pitstop for refuelling. wait staff were very accommodating. great selection of dim sum, hot pot (I had a delicious pork belly and preserved veg dish), noodles, congee etc. fab choi sum in garlic sauce. mum had never been in a 'real' Chinese restaurant before and really enjoyed the meal.

“A little slice of heaven, away from the stowell street buffets...”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

My partner and I visted this place just after 21:30pm and it was delightful! Authentic cuisine, wonderful service, and just a relaxed atmosphere. The waiter was prompt, and helpful, taking time to ensure we were satisfied with our dishes, advising us on tea. Though my partner is native to Hong Kong, I am not, and normally feel very awkward when we go out to Restaurants with a mainly Chinese demographic, but was made to feel extremely welcome, and put at ease instantly. Overall, the food was Incredible, and plentiful at that. We were happy to pay £7 + for our meals, because of the sheer quality of it, and shall definitely be returning in the future!

“Latest restaurant in newcastle Chinatown”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

We have been here twice since this Chinese canteen style restaurant opened , and I have to say despite some issues, the food has been good, authentic Cantonese style cuisine , don't expect your westernised Cantonese sweet and sour , but fish balls, tripe, chickens feet, this is the place to go, service has been prompt, friendly, toilets unfortunately are in desperate need of refurbishment, as they took over the precious late night popular mangos, however will definitely recommend , and hopeful they do well and continue to improve and being us great authentic Cantonese food to the Geordie masses
