“very friendly staff, faultless customer service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2012

Stayed for one night with my husband, our first stay and found the staff so welcoming from the second we arrived until we left. The receptionist was so lovely and gave first impression which was a good one and the bar staff and even the cleaner where so friendly and all had a smile and conversation. It makes a big difference to feel so welcome. Thankyou to all. The room was all ok. equiped with all we needed for a nights stay. The only minor complaint was the duvet was very lumpy, besides that all good. Other family also staying there. We had a very late night or should i say morning from 11pm onwards in hotel lounge until went to bed as celebrating a family event. and even when many guest returned from night out there was no noise or anything to compalin about. Will be returning for other events and planning to stay hear again. Room was on courtyard side and would request that side again. Breakfast was for my taste good, im not a fryed breakfast person but all other items on offer was perfect for breakfast and the coffee was good to. Will be back soon.

Room Tip: Room 401 was quite as courtyard side not road side. higher the better.

Stayed one night, easy parking next to the Hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and a good standard for the price. This provides good access to the city centre, I would definitely stay again. Easy walk to the shops, bars and restaurants.

Stayed here for just one night when we attended a gig at the nearby O2 Academy. We arrived early in order to queue at the venue and were pleasantly suprised when we were allowed to check in to our room early, the rrom was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. All the staff we encountered were polite and very helpful giving directions and suggestions of places to eat. We would return here without hesitation and look forward to doing so.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the square have less road noise

we stayed her for one night in nov 2011 , the hotel is located on a very busy road and as you would expect this brings with it a lot of road noise , we had a room at the back and still had a lot of noise but thats not the hotels fault !

apart from that the hotel itself is lovely very clean , simple furnishings but more that enough for what we needed.

warm breakfast in the morning was average but the continental part had a lot of choice.

cant comment on the cost as my sister paid for it :o)

i would definitely stay here again and would reccommend it to friends

A group of us attended a Stag Weekend and stayed at this hotel. From the minute we arrived nothing was too much trouble, great to get a warm welcome. All the staff went out their way to offer advice on places around the city centre and which bars and clubs were ideal.
The rooms were good for a weekend, okay maybe a bit ltd on storage, but basically you travel light for Stag Weekends.
The main part it was very clean, and catered for our group. Had a great sleep, ready for the next day.
Best qoute at Breakfast from two elderly women " With all these Groups on Stag Weekends never heard a sound"
Will be back Newcastle thats all I can say, Great Hotel, Great City Great Welcome.
To all the staff working that weekend, hats off to you...
that includes the woman at breakfast who was always smiling..

Room Tip: room 401 was facing the front of the hotel which has courtyard, never heard a sound... all in all I...

My conclusion after visiting this 'hotel' is that I would not be at all surprised if they are looking for a way to do away with beds if they could cut costs by doing so. Maybe expect a bed that folds into the wall in the future, so that the rooms can be narrower, so more can be squeezed onto each floor.

The reception and breakfast area are a bit of a cross between a motorway service station and a youth hostel. If you like constant TV in this area, then you will probably be happy. I stayed during the week, but I hate to think what this place is like when then drinkers arrive at the weekend. I hear they have security on the doors though.

I am not going to mention names, but there is a hotel across the Millennium bridge that does this cut-down hotel offering much, much better that this place.

Best quote of my stay: "She talks too much" by a fellow lift passenger in response to the constant automated announcements.

Room Tip: Away from the lift so you don't have to hear the constant announcements.

Dear Reviewer

I am sorry to hear you were diappointed with your stay, as all of our rooms are of a standard size I would be very interested to hear which room you stayed in so we can double check the furniture is situated as is correct. We have had the lift fixed recently so it is possible that had you stayed in the two rooms nearest the lift that you may have heard doors opening during your stay however should you stay with us in the future then this issue will have been fixed.
During breakfast we have the news on at a low level, should you at any time want this turned off then there are various places to sit or alternatively ask us to turn one of them off.
I am sorry we were not able to satisfy your needs on this occasion however we hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back here to stay with us soon

Kind regards
