The big problem was the cleanliness of our room. Nice hotel, nice reception staff, great location, however hairs in bed and stains on bedding and in bath let the hotel down. Excellent location for quayside and city centre. Great food in the Slug and Lettuce next door.

Although we actually live locally, we booked the Premier Inn because we were having a night out with friends to celebrate a 50th birthday. The cost of the room was only £29, which was nearly as cheap as a taxi home! Check-in was speedy and efficient and our room was up to the usual Premier Inn high standards. We had a very comfortable king size bed. The bed was so comfortable, we actually slept in the following morning! Staff informed us that the beds were brand new. We had received an email before our visit just asking the reason for our visit and I said it was a birthday celebration. I was really pleased, when we entered our room to find a small bottle of wine, balloons and a hand written card. This little personal touch made our visit even more special....thankyou Premier Inn! The location of the hotel is excellent for anyone visiting Newcastle and the bar and restaurant have great views overlooking the river. I would certainly recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with views overlooking the river, Millennium Bridge and the Sage.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the quayside and only a 15 min walk from the central station. .The room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable! We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to go to newcastle on a budget.

Great location - walking distance from the station and into the city centre- but also, the hotel is right on the riverside. We had room 301 and it looked right onto the bridge and the amazing Sage building - it's like Newcastle's version of Sydney!
At night the area around the quay is beautifully lit up and you will find good places to eat in all directions. We walked towards the Millenium bridge and stopped at Gusto - good food, great atmosphere.
In the day, we got the metro to Tynemouth and walked to Whitley Bay along the coastal path - absolutely gorgeous.
For us this was just a few days away and I would certainly recommend Newcastle and the Premier Inn.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river - we had 301.
