“Very helpful staff and brilliant location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2014

Stayed Sunday to Wednesday so not too busy and noise level very good. I would anticipate that those with rooms overlooking the Tyne or street might suffer street noise at weekend because of prime location on the Quayside. But for us the location was a key attraction. No double glazing. I would guess that the grade two status might have something to do with that.
Staff particularly friendly and helpful. This was consistent throughout the three night stay. Premier Inn should be proud of staff here. Room spacious., clean and comfortable. Kittiwakes on Tyne Bridge wonderful, can make quite a noise but all part of the attraction. Find out about them on Google, this is the furthest they are known to nest inland anywhere in the world. They nest on cliff edges where urbanites unlikely to see them so it is a privilege that they are here.

Hotel located walking distance from attractions such as Millennium Bridge, The Baltic and The Sage all essential visits. Breakfast good with again window views looking over the Tyne with brilliant view of The Sage, bridges.
Hotel good for all. Weekends likely to be lively. Hotel has stained glass features. Well worth a visit.

If travelling to the hotel from Gateshead side of the Tyne take the left just as you would head straight on Tyne Bridge (tall blue one) and go over swing bridge - much easier to locate the hotel that way as it saves you going all over the overpasses. My sat nat had me turning hallway across the Tyne bridge!
Car parking £7 per night. Under hotel with locked gate use intercom to gain access. Two disabled bays. Other spaces can be tight but car safe. No rail on steps to hotel but there is a small lift next to main entrance for those less mobile or wheelchair users. Not ideal but it is there.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 432 Near the lift, in the quiet zone. View of Tyne quayside and Sage. Kittiwakes...

Excellent stay. Expected it to be a bit noisy at night in the hotel and it was not, so pleasantly surprised. All age groups could stay here although perhaps not disabled, otherwise, excellent all round, would recommend the Quayside.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Great views of the Tyne bridge. Lovely porridge at breakfast (you have to ask for it). Nice area. Noisy outside on Saturday night but not really a problem if you're tired. Recommended!

Great location right on the Quayside.
Comfortable bed as always, bathroom could have been a bit cleaner.
We didn't eat breakfast, so can't comment on the food.

A few things to be aware of.
1.The onsite car park soon fills up, but there are plenty of of other choices in the area.
2.If you want a lie-in, be aware that rubbish is emptied early in a morning and bottles smashing make a heck of a noise!!
3. On a Sunday there is restricted access to some of the roads round the hotel, due to their being a Sunday Market on the Quayside. The hotel warned us of this and it wasn't a huge problem to navigate.

We will most likely stay here again if we can get it for £29 per night.

The hotel was in a good location with easy access. The reception was brilliant. Rooms were clean & tidy. The lobby is warm & welcoming. There was plenty of nightlife only a few minutes away too.
Breakfast was great value! & all you can eat.
Checking out was minimal.
