Premier Inn Newcastle Quayside
Reviewed 9 June 2014

We only spent one night at this Premier Inn, but it's not the first we have stayed in. They never let you down and 'do what they say on the tin' - great rooms at reasonable prices, with good food in the restaurant and wonderful friendly staff.

The staff at this Premier Inn were friendly, polite and helpful, the food is great and the rooms clean. Only downside is the small underground car park but there is other parking only a short walk away. The placement is superb with everything a relaxed walk away. A very old building sympathetically converted into a Premier Inn. Slight noise nuisance from the Kittiwakes outside the window but they shut up once it's dark !

stayed there over a weekend and had a good time some staff were very friendly while others should take note and learn from them ! i caught one standing outside my door listening into our conversation and when i challenged him he first denied it then when i told him i had watched him through the spyhole he said that there had been noises and complaints ! which was rubbish as i was able to hear his footsteps up the hallway and stop at our door so i would strongly disagree with his point !! the food was very good and location was ideal .

Premier inn quayside is a great old building right underneath the picturesque Tyne bridge. As usual, the premier inn breakfast was fabulous, the rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. The only niggle I had was the lack of parking - if you book using the premier inn app (which I do regularly) it doesn't advise you that you need to book parking in advance as their underground car park is tiny. If like us you get stuck then there is an NCP round the corner but it would be nice to have known in advance! If you're staying here then the broad chare just round the corner opposite the law courts is a must for a fabulous evening meal.

The location is sublime. Under the Tyne bridge. Friendly people. Good pubs and restaurants in the neighborhood. And Newcastle is a beautiful city. Also very funny are these Kittywakes, an almost local bird species descending from some kind of seagull. A pity it was raining most of the time. But we enjoyed it nonetheless.

I recently stopped over for one night at the above named hotel. One night was enough. The hotel was very dated and badly in need of major TLC. As soon as you walk into reception you can see right away how much a refurbishment is required. The floor goes up and down like waves when you walk on it giving you the feeling that you have had a bit too much to drink. I would not stay here again on choice unless it had a major make over. The staff were very nice and helpful which made up little bit for what the hotel lacked in other areas.

Room Tip: I would not like to hazard a guess which rooms were better
