Ideal venue if you are looking for quality accomodation and service close close to Newcastle city centre (5 minute taxi ride away).

Very well run reception with very helpful and friendly staff - we were shown to our room and our bags carried by the reception staff member which was nice.

Quality 4* standard rooms that were modern, clean and well furnished - we had a suite in an annexe building which worked really well. Really couldn't fault it and pretty good value as well.

Nice bar with wood pannelling and table service and breakfast was of a good standard. The main house is a lovely old building which creates a nice ambience - there was a wedding there during the day when we stayed but it didn't disrupt us.

Much preferred this hotel to the hotels I've tried in Newcastle centre and it was no hassle having a short taxi ride in and out of town.

This review is overdue, we actually stayed on 27 July for one night when attending a day at Gosforth Races. As we were travelling up from the Midlands on the day of the races, and would be arriving at the hotel early, I telephoned in advance and spoke to Isabel regarding a possible early check-in. On arrival at the hotel, Isabel remembered me and advised we had been upgraded and moved to Room 22, which was a lovely room overlooking the garden and terrace. The hospitality at the hotel was wonderful. Special thanks to Isabel.

We enjoyed our visit so much, we have booked for Boxing Day for 2 nights and looking forward to returning.

Stayed at the hotel with my husband & daughter for a very special birthday last Saturday. Even though a wedding party was also at the hotel the same day/evening we never heard any part of it. Staff went out of their way with their hospitality to make my birthday an exceptional and memorable day never to be forgotten and made a very good first impression. We stayed in a deluxe room which was very large, roomy, very clean and looked over the gardens and terrace and was very well presented possibly one of the best UK hotels we have ever stayed in. Had afternoon tea and evening meal which was very well presented and tasted amazing & very filling and the hospitality via different members of staff was second to none amazed how welcoming and friendly they were and nothing was a problem. Only complaint I had was the mattress was too hard for me, but other than that fantastic stay and can't wait to return

Pease and tranquilly in the middle of any city is hard to find. The Jesmond Dene House more than meets all these requirements set within a wooded valley known as Jesmond dene. The hotel was once the home of Captain Andrew Noble a prominent local shipbuilder who was in partnership with Lord Armstrong of Craighill now a NT property.
After a number of owners and uses the house lay empty for some time before being transformed into the present use as a hotel. Many of the rooms have retained there original features while the bedrooms have been tastefully designed to blend with the original house yet offer all the modern facilities expected of a four star hotel. As my wife and I did not stay for dinner, I can only say that the breakfast offered plenty of choice with plenty of healthy options. All the staff are very attentive, polite, and well presented and go out of there way to make your stay both enjoyable and comfortable. No its not cheap, but as they say "you get what you pay for" and the Jesmond Dene House is very good value for money. The only small criticism I would have is the high bar prices, but then its your choose as how much you decide to drink!

Room Tip: Only a short walk through the Dene if you a visiting the Freeman Hospital.

Jesmond Dene House sits in a beautiful sheltered steep valley where its own micro climate creates a lush mediterranean setting. Well away from a road or any traffic the peace enhances the pampered experience.
The interior is also stunning. Large comfy lounges, exquite bedrooms, devoire velvet glinting in mellow lighting, it is just perfect. The furnishings are sumptuous and very new or well maintained, the rooms immaculately clean. The staff make you feel valued, smiling faces greeting you and calling you by name.
Then there is the food and what a choice there is, delectable with surprise extra courses slipped in between the main ones at dinner.
We went for a special anniversary and found complimentary champagne on ice beside a huge bowl of fresh fruit and much more awaiting us. Our lively little girls were treated with great kindness and consideration, they were delighted, we were happy.
Many thanks to Nicky Sherman and the team and also for the very prompt finding of my long cashmere cardigan which I received next day – at no charge.

We stayed for one night, on the Foodie package, including bed and three course meal and breakfast - it was lovely. The food was amazing, the room was gorgeous, and the staff were professional, courteous and generally great! The location was really nice too, right next to Jesmond Dene, so the perfect opportunity for a walk. Although the hotel is very luxurious, it also has a very relaxed feel and is a perfect mixture of traditional and contemporary. We would defintiely return and would compeltely recommend it.

I've been here three times this year for afternoon tea and it's always been wonderful. Beautifully presented food, extremely high quality ingredients, great service and a lovely atmosphere. This just couldn't be any better! Probably one of the most expensive places for afternoon tea in the region, but worth every penny. Highly recommended for a special occasion - and if my husband is reading this, please can we go again soon?!
