We were there last week for 2 nights and had an excellent stay. The room (in the main house) overlooked the gardens and was large with a beautifully appointed bathroom. At breakfast they did the best poached eggs I have ever tasted. Will definitely go back for an extended North East holiday based at the hotel.

Room Tip: We had room 8 which overlooked the garden.

Had a great four nights here during some unusually warm weather for the North east. Was impressed by the size of our junior suite in the new house - and sound proofing so good that we heard nothing of our neighbours during our stay. The decor and fittings, linens etc were all high quality - the only downside I can remember was the lack of air conditioning - though an efficient fan was provided on request. We loved the gardens and found the staff efficient, friendly and professional. The hotel obviously does a lot of its business through hosting events in its rooms and its restaurant / bar, and there was always a bustle with lots of people around. This means that one never really feels a cherished guest enjoying the facilities when the crowds have departed - but the quality of the room and surroundings mean its not that big a deal. Food was great in the restaurant we had both breakfast and dinner - thought the room service menu was a little limited - a pity during the world cup when the call of the TV was strong! Really appreciated the free strong WI-FI - Overall a great stay an we will be back.

I have stayed here on business for a year or so and have not once had a bad experience that has not been dealt with quickly and discreetly.

I have had small meetings and large meetings here all that have been expertly dealt with.

We will continue to return, the staff really do make this hotel, many thanks to Izzy, Danny, Brian, Steven for all their help and support. Never a disappointment.

we have stayed here before and so for a graduation decided that nowhere else in the vacinity would do. We were not disappointed. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. Lovely sheets with beautifully fine crisp bed linen. bathrooms luxurious and with really good quality complimentary toiletries. Tea tray well equipped with cafetiere as well as teapot and good quality tea. Breakfast was well up to the mark for the continental and the full english brigade. we will be back if we can find half an excuse!

To finish off our 43rd Wedding Anniversary we booked an overnight stay of Dinner B & B at J. D.H. Hotel.Again we were not disappointed. Dinner was fine dining to the ultimate and the room we had been allocated before so was of 5 star quality. Breakfast was to the same high standard. Staff were also first class and again the Hotel has a great employee and ambassador in Nicky Sherman.
