Description: The Spice Cube restaurant in the heart of Newcastle city centre is what being Indian is all about: modern, chic, now. This is casual, sophisticated dining in an eye-catching space at the top of The Gate leisure complex. The colours are curry and pomegranate with a gleaming glass-sided staircase, modern seating, space age lighting and design everywhere. Highly-respected chef Ram Trivedi creates a menu of these-you-have-loved favourites and modern inventions and his gourmet nights really show what the kitchen can do. The lounge is a perfect spot to start and end your evening with modern Punjabi Zee music on the plasma screens. Professional, discreet service, kidz menu, and beautifully presented dishes. The Spice Cube is no square.

My wife and I recently enjoyed another meal in this restaurant located in 'The Gate,' Newcastle-upon-Tyne (we have had a meal on a number of occasions here). As usual the food, service and atmosphere was excellent - good value for money. The staff are very friendly and polite. We shall be back. Thank you.

Good biriyani. Service was good, and my Greek friends loved the less spicy, custom made dishes for Europeans. Can't really claim as authentic, but the food is really tasty.

Shopping trip in town and went to the Spice Cube for their special 2 course lunch (£8.95). Excellent value for money, and the food was simply delicious. I had a lamb samosa to start, with Chicken Tikka Marsala to follow, Food cooked to order and piping hot; delicious and one of the best Indian meals I have had.

Will make this a regular, if shopping or going to the cinema.
