Description: Paradiso Newcastle - NORTH EAST RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR 2016 As voted by the Food Awards England. One of those restaurants you'll discover by word of mouth rather than by walking past, Paradiso is a local family run restaurant that has been a mainstay on the Newcastle gastro scene for 20 years. Tucked away down Market Lane, Paradiso is a hidden treasure. The restaurant is split into three main floors. The first floor, which is also the main seating floor seats up to 60, has a bar and a spacious outdoor terrace for alfresco dining. The second floor contains the open-plan kitchen and another seating area, which is able to seat up to 50. This floor is smaller than the first floor, but is still capable of holding large parties with ease, and again, we can accommodate parties of any size and number. If you require more privacy, our third floor is a private dining room which can seat up to 45. As this room features skylights, it is a bright, warm space and is spacious enough to be used for any kind of event, such as dining, presentations and so on.

I've eaten in most of the restaurants in Newcastle and Paradiso is quite simply the best.

I have had some of the most delicious food of my life while i've been at Paradiso. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and for the quality of the food, the value for money is outstanding.

If you are in Newcastle definitely give this place a try.

After visiting lots of other resteraunts around newcastle .We both feel that there is no personal service at all these days . We go to Zizzi a lot & like it there but you get no special treatement at all . When we went to Paradiso we were really welcomed although we did seem to wait a while to be asked for a drink . The manager was a lovely smiley man who was so nice & asked if we had enjoyed it which we did . I had the starter of aubergine & salad whilst my fiance had the fish cake which were both nice , then we had chicken supreme & salmon . All for £8.95 for the two courses . The wine was overpriced at £17.50 " Far too expensive " Pinot grigio but isnt it everywhere !. We really enjoyed the food & service but it wouldnt of cost a lot to give us a free shotor a coffee . It would of been a nice touch. We would go back though as the waiters were so nice . You will think your abroad as its laid back lol . Overall nice so go & try it .Especially when the sun is shining on the outside balcony x

Had dinner with a group of friends and the food was nasty, vovercooked and very small meat dishes with a tiny sideplate of shrivelled chips, very overpriced and the steel tables and chairs were cheap and uncomfortable. Two cource meal with a single drink each was over 27 pound and worth about 5, stay well away from this one!! None of our party of 8 were in any way satisfied......never again

Nestling just off Pilgrim Street in Newcastle on Tyne this first floor restaurant with roof terrace delivers a superb dining experience that is well worth seeking out.

The food is mediterraenean based and looks as good as it tastes! The restaurant has its own bakery and the breads are out of this world.

The owners and staff are very friendly really care about what they are doing - nothing is a trouble and attention to detail is th order of the day. They even give Italian lessons on Tuesday night, ring to confirm.

For business or pleasure give Paradiso a try - you will be genuinely surprised and will no doubt become one of the many regulars!
