“Try it for yourself.”

Excellent food, very friendly and attentive service. Good selection of dishes, lovely beer and wine, reasonable prices especially for a city centre restaurant. Not much more to say other than try it for yourself.

“Inexpensive and always a pleasure”
Reviewed 3 June 2013 via mobile

Kafe Neon represents exceptional value in a busy Newcastle cafe/restaurant market. The staff are always attentive and service is prompt, particularly during the weekday lunch hour. The friendly service and well priced tasty dishes set Kafe Neon apart from other generic/chain establishments in the city centre. The Pork Gyros pitta and Neon Club sandwich do not disappoint! Would always recommend!

“always nice food and good price”
Reviewed 2 June 2013

I have been to cafe neon a few times, both for a quick lunch and also for an evening meal, and each time i have been really happy with the service, food and price. Sure, I have eaten better Greek food in Greece, but im sure we can say that about every type of food and it is never the same as when you are in the country it originates from.

For uncomplicated, inexpensive and relatively tasty food with quick and pleasant service then this place is definitely worth a try!

“A lovely surprise for lunch”
Reviewed 27 May 2013

We came across Kafeneon accidentally, whilst looking for a new place to try for lunch. Hidden in the Big Market it's a lovely little place: although the interior is not up to scratch it has this European feel to it of a nice little day-time cafe, slightly quirky but charming in its own way.
The starter was a little let down (hummus with pitta bread). The bread was nice, the tzaziki was an interesting discovery, however the hummus was just ok, nothing too flavorsome. On the other hand, the mains we had were delicious. The first bite of my Chicken Souvlaki blew me away- infused with herbs and flavors it was definitely better than expected. I tried my partners Chicken Feta Fajitas and it was equally nice and indulgent. All in all, I believe we might be back to try some other dishes as the place was a nice little discovery.

“Lovely little place”
Reviewed 25 May 2013

Had a great meal here with my friend last Wednesday. We opted for the Mezze as we weren't sure what to have. The friendly and rather cute waiter with the gorgeous New Zealand accent was very helpful in describing the feast for us! It looked very tasty and was entirely beautiful. We also enjoyed some very nice house rose wine (unfortunately there is no wine list to select from) Good quality food in a relaxed, non pretentious establishment. We will definitely be returning to sample some more of their delights.
